Black Knight
I started my first Repulsor yesterday and "Oh My" I am starting to fall asleep with all the cleaning up on the Grav Plates so I have moved on to the weapons for a bit to try to push through the repetitiveness. Then I hit another wall with the realisation that I have no clue on how to equip it. What does everyone choose? I am definitely drifting towards Onslaught instead of the Talon. What is everyone equipping? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363426-repulsor-loadout-for-dw/ Share on other sites
Tichinde
I opted for onslaught on mine, and then the lascannons on the hull for anti-tank. it puts out a crazy amount of shots with the 2 onslaughts, storm bolters and stubbers plus you have the lascannons for tougher things if you go that way. I also did this. Before the executioner came out, I wanted a mix of anti-tank punch and dakka. Mr4Minutes
I went onslaughts and the twin HB. Tried to keep it “cheap”. But it’s easy to magnetize. I also went all storm bolters. I built it when bolter discipline allowed vehicles to shoot rapid fire at max range. The consistency of 4 shots is better then d6. Now it may be better to run the frag launchers, but those are more expensive. Not sure what the math says in a point to point comparison. Debauchery101
I think the best is just goin executioner route. The double fire perk is just amazing. As for transportation, for me any infantry units that start on the board are small sized and can still start in the Executioner. I don't think I've had either tank survive past 3rd turn and mostly die 1st..maybe second. A repulsor full of death watch is around 500-550 pts. Great for killing stuff, fills the anti tank void DW has but will be a fire magnet. Ideally you would want two in any marine build but that would eat up so many points that it would eat up too much of what the DW bring to the table. Just plain and simple for a year I played Dual Executioners in my Ultramarines and never felt a lack of firepower or threat. Conversely after playing my Repulsor with my Deathwatch for about a year I just never felt it worked well enough. I think it's partially a cost thing. I have 2 lascannons on it, and every thing else is very vanilla except I play the Onslaught turrent just to add some dakka. I used it to 'hide' characters with a smaller squad, perhaps Hellblasters. I don't think with the base cost of our troops it's worth it. I miss the marine ability to fill in a Battalion with basic scouts. Basic scouts just got so much better with bolter drill and the charge bonus. Deathwatch need that extra 5CP. Black Knight
Thanks for all the responses, problem is the Repulsors are from the Conquest magazine so its the original or nothing, still haven't found a third party turret I like. I tried magnetising everything but gave up after the main turret and the front port, as I found that a lot of the joints just didn't line up and look good. Hopefully stormbolters and Heavy bolters will do me for a few editions. Debauchery101
Thanks for all the responses, problem is the Repulsors are from the Conquest magazine so its the original or nothing, still haven't found a third party turret I like. Hopefully stormbolters and Heavy bolters will do me for a few editions. This is the Bits-pudlo turret I got in a loot crate. Which had 2 spots where the resin had a bubble and was thin. But I sent the company an email just wanting the 2 parts replaced and they sent me a whole turret kit. Took about 3 weeks. They ship from croatia or Romania. I forget. I'm located west coast USA. I see them on easy, their website and ebay for around $20 You can see the imperfection on the turret behind the hatch. Honestly some miliput on both sides to fill and beef it up will be easy. I just haven't had a use to build a second executioner yet Edited April 30, 2020 by Debauchery101 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363426-repulsor-loadout-for-dw/#findComment-5514696 Share on other sites
