Arendious
So rather than just continuing to drop into people's threads, and posting sundry other non-pictorial goodies - I actually did start on some tiny planes! Apologies for the super-potato quality pic; the photographer of the family is tied up with endless Zoom meetings. duz_ and Grotsmasha 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363450-jeremiah-weed-and-promethium-arendious-wip-thread/ Share on other sites
Mandragola
Nice work... I assume. Have to admit it’s not totally easy to see the results. But I look forward to seeing more! Arendious
Yeah, it's a terrible photo. That's a four-ship of stock Thunderbolts, the left two are primed with Grey Seer, the right two are waiting their turn. There's a two-ship of Furies with the beginning of a ground-attack pattern, off camera. Arendious
Progress - well, in photography at least. Here we have a (smallish) 'elephant walk' of Thunderbolts. The two T-bolt Furies are from the 81st Fighter Squadron, the four 'A-model' T-bolts are flown by the 72nd Fighter Sq. Both units are currently part of the 33rd Fighter Group. Mandragola
Good stuff. Definitely a much better picture. Will you be going for a two colour camo scheme then? Arendious
I'm waffling on the camo for the Furies. I was getting frustrated with the green, so I decided to quit while I was ahead. Might go for adding some grey areas, or maybe a darker green and a lighter brown too. walter h 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363450-jeremiah-weed-and-promethium-arendious-wip-thread/#findComment-5513592 Share on other sites
Mandragola
Now you mention it, I think your green and brown are similar tones. You might do better with a light and a dark colour. Arendious
As is the way of things, I did indeed end up with both a Skies of Fire box and a standalone box of Lightnings... Flight organizational OCD kicked in hard. So, question to my fellow Squadron Commanders - The 'odd' Lightning is going to get a unique paint scheme and become a 'Recon Lightning'. Should this variant get Las-cannons, Multi-lasers, or should I find something suitably 'sensor-ish' to put in those locations? (Or just leave them empty?) Eventually I'm going to try to sculpt, or more likely 3D print, some drop tanks and jammer pods to take the underwing hardpoints as well.
