This is related to 40k as in it is greatly related to the Astartes movie and its last scenes. Mods, kindly please do not remove, I want the community to be able to appreciate where the Astartes author was getting his inspiration from and be able to enjoy this museum tour. Thank you.

As you guys and gals probably realized, those last scenes in Astartes, the weird planet, the "valley of statues", the shapes in the void, etc. - they all seem partially inspired by Hans Rudolf Giger (the "Alien" xenomorph guy, watch out googling his art because he loved his anatomy ;) ). Another very clear inspiration comes from a less popularly known contemporary artist, who nevertheless created exquisite and disturbingly alien vistas - Zdzisław Beksiński.

You can google his works of course, but the selection of reproductions online isn't great and proper albums are hard to find. A museum in Kraków which houses his works now, but is closed due to COVID, has created a simple virtual tour. It's not very high resolution, but getting it fullscreen and zooming with mouse scroll can allow us to appreciate the paintings and the style at least a bit better than googling.

Enjoy! :)

Wonderful find. I've been a fan of his work for a long time, as soon as I saw that scene I thought "Damn, someone likes Beksinski!"

Lots of his work has a very 40K flavour to it, I wouldn't be surprised if artists like John Blanche would name him as an influence. Unsurprisingly you find him turning up on the covers of metal albums pretty often too.
