plastic_slug
I finished the last two Aeronautica models I had in my stash, these Grot Bommers. Came out okay, except for the stands. It seems the mounting hole for the stand was too large on these. I had to glue the Bommers to the stands, otherwise they were easily knocked off. Not a tight fit at all, like the other models I’ve built so far. duz_ and Fajita Fan 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363802-grot-bommers-completedissue/ Share on other sites
Fajita Fan
If you want them to come off the stands you could just use thin magnets, that's what I've done on flying stand for things like Landspeeders. If/when I finish my AI stuff I'll probably just slap 1mm thick magnets on there. Those look great, though! plastic_slug
Thanks. I’m not too broken up about the gluing them to the flight stands. I was likely going to leave mine on them and not pose anything anyway. It was just a little strange all the other aircraft were super tight, and these were flopping around. I don’t have a set, but I’d guess the Ork Eavy Bommers are the same way. I could have done more with the paint jobs, but I figured it was adequate tabletop standard. Mandragola
I’ve found the Grot bommers are loose too. I thought about maybe adding some GS in there. That would probably just get stuck anyway though. Firedrake Cordova
I don’t have a set, but I’d guess the Ork Eavy Bommers are the same way. I just checked my (unassembled) set, and the interference fit, whilst not "sloppy", is less tight than the other kits. I imagine I'll be filling the socket a little with some acrylic putty to tighten the fit a bit. Fajita Fan
Blue tack is a good, non-permanent to stick things on for a game. I'm using it for square bases on my round bases for my WHFB models in AoS. plastic_slug
Good to know if I get some Ork Bommers for my game. The slightest knock would send my Grot Bommer off the stand. Blue Tack might be a good solution as well. Thanks.
