elmo
I started getting the Conquest magazine for the Primaris Marines but I could not resist having a go at some Death Guard... The models are a great example of the gifts of Grandfather Nurgle. Here is the WIP on the first 2 Plague Marines and a Plague Marine Champion. This is not planned as a new army in my collection but as a change from painting DA and Tau but who knows what may happen Gumo9, Zephaniah Adriyen, Iron Sage and 13 others 16 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/ Share on other sites
Special Officer Doofy
Well good news is death guard is one of the most forgiving factions to paint I feel. The models are all new and full of detail, but with the usual death guard colors and their growths alot of it blends together so little missed details are unnoticeable I find. They look good by the way! elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/#findComment-5520130 Share on other sites

ranulf the revenant
Well done, so far. The only thing which I don't like about the Death Guard models are these random spike/ bone-growth things... elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/#findComment-5523968 Share on other sites

elmo
The first 3 of my Death Guard are done. All hail Grandfather Nurgle and may His gift of pestilence be never ending... I have another 3 in progress - unfortunately the same models but I will try an arm swap so as not to be too boring... Plague _Lord
Tis a nice start! What I like to do is add nurgle's rot technical paint to the bases around the feet. It adds nice depth and the feeling that the plague marine's very presence is destructive to the environment. Maybe you could try something like that? I just feel that the bases are a bit too clean if you get me :) elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/#findComment-5533213 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
I love the bruised flesh colour on the latest guy without a helmet - its really effective, both as a contrast with the green and in showing that the guy really isn't very healthy. elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/#findComment-5539788 Share on other sites

Dr_Ruminahui
I love the red-purple mutations and boils - lovely use of a consistent and contracting spot colour, really adds visual points of interest to the squad without harming squad consistency. elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363818-elmo-dipping-a-toe-into-nurgles-rot/#findComment-5696351 Share on other sites

elmo
You are tempting me. I might be able to paint these. How are they to build? Go for it. The models are easy build - pushfit type with minimal parts. From the Conquest magazine.
