What kind of terrain do you use for your GK army?

Personally, I have a pot of Valhallan Blizzard sitting next to me, but the contrast of white snow to grey armor wouldn't look as striking as green armor to snow. So what type of terrain would you recommend, and how would you go about it creating it?

As a rule of thumb,

There are two ways to go.

From what i've scene Light basis look better on dark models and dark basis look better on light models

Or

They are painted roughly the same pitch/shade but add to the theme - ie. space wolves in snow

Also pro snow tip - to get the best snow use the following, bicarbonate of soda (2/3), White paint(1) and PVA glue (1).

My Eldar army is done in that way and it looks much better than the Valhallan Bliizard stuff.

It's in the loft but I might try and dig it out if you're really keen.

Thanks for the responses.

With regards to the bi-carb, would't it have issues sticking on, if by any chance you get rain on top of it? Wouldn't mind seeing how it looks like though.

As for the urban bases, at first, a picture came into my mind of the necromunda bases (which I'm not a fan of). How did you get that skeleton on the base though?

That's what you mix the PVA glue in for, it dries solid as you like

I'll see if I can did out a good photo

For my Wraightknight I happened across a dreadnought to add a little extra to the base, it wasn't painted so i gave it a quick spray in high-contrast colour to my theme

For a lot of the models I actually used Vanahlla or perhaps a pre-cusor and used the bi-carb. It give a soft snow effect

The models here are around 5+ years old so they mixture has aged as much as it ever will. The white paint is key as without they the mixture goes green after a few weeks.
