Kierdale
The Snakebite gretchin are done. Some carrying snakebows ;) This one came out of hypnosis a bit too early... More pics: Hidden Content Standard bearer and leader. The glyphs say “Wortthug”, the name of their runtherd. The mushroom and name refer to the grots’ non-combat role of guarding/tending to fungi. It was good fun making these. I’m making some Oddboys next and will give each one or two grot assistants. Bjorn Firewalker
Fine works, Kierdale. I admire the effort you put into marking gretchin clothing with snakes, snake jaws, snake markings, etc. Edited June 7, 2020 by Bjorn Firewalker Kierdale 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363882-the-lockdown-painting-challenge-2020/page/10/#findComment-5536846 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Thanks! I didn’t want them wearing just plain sackcloth. And it gives them a bit more colour. The glyphs are to show they’re slaves prisoners with jobs. Captain Caine 24th
Captain Caine calling it done on the Invictor Tactical Warsuit, for my Adeptus Astartes (spacemarines) Imperial Fist Vow. So, significant Other out of town for the weekend... I thought, well maybe I can do this in a day. Figured ok, it's go time. Let's do this. 12-year old me is outrageously excited. 21 year old me thinks a tavern sounds better. 35 year old me thinks I don't have the patience or stamina for this. Well, it took about 2 hours to cut, clean, sand and glue. I tried out a new paint scheme on an intercessor so I didn't have to waste a lot of time deciding on that. I'd never done the non-metallic metal style on a vehicle. It confused me greatly, as it's the opposite of a zenithal I usually do on my guard tanks. Base-coating, Painting, detailing, and sponge chipping took 5.5 hours yesterday, and 2 today. Basing, weathering powders, and decals (with several gloss and matte coats) took another 2 hours. I wish I'd planned the base better in advance. Now that I think about it, some shell casings would be a nice touch... Bah, I'm calling done. Didn't do it in a day, but I'm happy with 48 hours to completion. DORN LIVES!!!!! OMEGON, I'M COMING FOR YOU!!!!!! Leonaides
I, Leonaides, vow to complete a Space Crusade squad for the Further Glory of the Blood Angels Forum on or by the 15th of August 2020, or bare the Badge of Shame until year's end. -This, children, is exactly why they send terminators into space hulks nowadays - lifespan of these guys was measured in seconds if a dreadnought snuck up on them. I'll just leave this here... (and the lovely original box art paint scheme below) But - do i do an oldstyle paint scheme as above, or try for a more modern version (less orange and cartoony)? Do i go for the white-armoured captain/sergeant or red? Thoughts appreciated gents/ladies/xenos fiends... LameBeard
But - do i do an oldstyle paint scheme as above, or try for a more modern version (less orange and cartoony)? Do i go for the white-armoured captain/sergeant or red? Thoughts appreciated gents/ladies/xenos fiends... Why not a more modern scheme, but with the iconic white sergeant? It would be a nod to the classic look and a refresh at the same time. Either that or just go the whole hog and make them Flesh Tearers instead of Blood Angels!
