Grim Dog Studios
Hi all, Hopefully somebody can help me! I’m looking to get some variation in the legs on my army so that theres more different poses, and thought I’d make some MK V legs out of MK VII. However, to do this I need to buy some studs to put on the lower section of the leg. I have seen before a few 3rd party stores etc that sell studs that can be applied to armour, but my mind is currently going blank and I can’t seem to find them. Does anyone know of any that they wouldn’t mind sharing the link to? Thanks James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363952-armour-studs/ Share on other sites

FormelyKnownAsSmashyPants
Hi I knew that there was a tutorial on a 30k message board somewhere that had a tutorial for studded space marine pauldrons, greaves, and other armour pieces and had a link to a shop that sold round headed and conical headed model railway pins. Can’t find either the forum or the shop and my Google fu is weak. Tichinde
Plastic beads out of a water filter can also be used as a cheap alternative, might take a bit of effort to get them all the right size though. Venerable Jazzman
I use glass nail beads - you can get a lifetime's supply dirt cheap. Just drill a little pit to receive it, touch a piece of wire into superglue then into the pit, then pick up a bead and sorted. They're all a fairly standard size as well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/QIMEIYA-Crystal-Gardient-Dazzling-Decoration/dp/B0711RKX93/ref=sr_1_6?crid=54M5Z1SDFP7N&dchild=1&keywords=caviar+nail+beads&qid=1590322105&s=beauty&sprefix=caviar+nai%2Cbeauty%2C197&sr=1-6 They're what I used on the lascannon arm here - http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357427-best-way-to-do-up-a-chaplain-dreadnought/?do=findComment&comment=5520072 In hindsight, I'd maybe have made the holes a little deeper. the rivets are standing a little too proud.
