So, I want to build a close assault oriented army using Bolter Fussilades and Rapid Assault along with an army list similiar to this:

Primaris Lt

Primaris Captain

Primaris Libarian

4x 10x Man Squads of Auto Bolt Rifle Intercessors with a Thunderhammer on Sgt

1x 6 man aggressor Squad

3x Plasma Redemptors

1x Lascannon-Hurricane Centurions squad

The army is mostly built around moving forward with assault weapons blazing, the captain babysits the dreads or Cents, and the LT moves with the Intercessors. I was thinking Raven Guard for the odd character killing, or Imperial Fists for the Dreads and Cents to kill vehicles first turn.

White Scars.

Your Captain would Be wasted babysitting your dreads, for 1 CP on Wisdom of the Ancients one of your dreads get the re-roll 1s.

You’ll want the White Scars Plume and Hungary for Battle. Also be sure to take Indominus Crusaders specialist detachment so your Intercessors, Captain, and Lieutenant can advance with +2” AND charge +2”. Yeah you’ll cross the field pretty quick in a single turn.

White Scars are by far the best at making Intercessors actually scary in melee. Not only does their super-doctrine double the damage output, they also have the +1 strength banner, and their chaplain litany gives melee attacks full rerolls to wound in an aura, which is just insane. With both buffs and Assault Doctrine, a charging squad of Intercessors can put about ten wounds on a Knight before even counting the sergeant's hammer. White Scars would also let you outflank a unit of Assault Centurions, rather than having backline lascannon centurions.

Rapid Assault is not nearly as useful as Hungry For Battle, or just the base WS chapter tactic.

I'd love to suggest Raven Guard, because they don't rely on a particular unit (regardless of the Assault Centurion meta) to be effective . . . . I'd still say White Scars or Blood Angels for the list you have. Honestly with that many Intercessors I'd suggest at least one Chaplain.

Blood Angels would work as well since they let all your units, including Intercessors, hit really hard (and from turn 3+ on a lot too), give +1 to advance (and charge rolls) and have useful stuff like the 5+++ relic banner, psychic powers to give a unit a 5++ or +1 attack or give the psyker M12 and FLY (and move 12" when you cast it immediately) and so on.

However having played such a list a few times with my Blood Angels let me tell you that if your opponent brings a serious list you won't be getting far, even if it's not one of the top tournament armies. So far I got wrecked by AdMech, Tyranids and Grey Knights with such a type of list.

With the new Primaris release, my army is going to be different. I struggle with the anti-armor, so I hope those melta Gravis guys are good. Now I think I'll do the waves thing, my bolt rifles advance and shoot, followed by the wave of melee warriors. My shooting boys will move around shooting and disrupting while my melee mops up.

I somehow doubt these Melta Gravis guys will be a better pick than Las-fusil Eliminators (especially when they can actually make cover be a worthwhile mechanic), but we shall see.

It really depends on the gun and special rules. If they share the stat line of Aggressors, at T5 W3 they are pretty tough, if they can fire without penalty and move that helps. Plus it's possible they could shoot twice like aggressors or have some other cool special rule. Plus they could pop out of Repulsors or use a strat to deploy them forward. I honestly don't think we can know about those guys until we see the rules they have. I just know I like the models alot.

Sadly I cant take 3 Las-fusil to go with my 3 Sniper Bolt Rifle units or I would :( Soooo seriously hoping these guys cam punk a Knight if a 6 man unit
