That's a hard question to answer. Points level? MSU? Tournament Play? Since currently Intercessors are the only Primaris unit that can take Thunderhammers, that's pretty limiting. It's possible to get 35 thunderhammers into a 2k list, depending on how you want to go about it. It's all MSU, Veteran Intercessors with Thunderhammer sgts, 3 smash captains, 5 TH/SS VV squads, and an assault squad with a TH sgt. Now, that list can't do anything except melee things really hard, as the shooting is pretty mediocre.

But since you didn't specify, anything to really work with I figured I'd give you the maximum possible answer. Without really knowing what units you had in mind I couldn't really come up with anything else.

I am building the option to have 4 Primaris Thunder Sergeants in my 2k list. Hoping to run two with 2 squads of 5 man Assault Intercessors but ok with them running with 4 squads of 5 regular Intercessors also.

I'm assuming (hoping) that Assault intercessors are just going to be a new option set for Intercessors rather than a totally new unit. Assault intercessors will probably follow the same theme as reivers, using a heavy bolt pistol, with the chainsword, and the sgt will probably have the option for a thunderhammer.

NONE!

Maybe 1.

Or 5 if using Terminators (which you should because .... Terminators).

It's still assassination if you charge at the enemy and smash his face in with a hammer, as long as he ends up dead right?

I think it’s interesting that the assault intercessors left pauldron looks like it belongs on Gravis armor and that the forearm has a vambrace? I assume it’s cosmetic considering full Gravis armor is still just 3+. Looks cool though.
