Glute
So if you apply Gate of Infinity to a unit can that unit also have Dynamic Insertion applied to them? Corvus Fortis
So if you apply Gate of Infinity to a unit can that unit also have Dynamic Insertion applied to them? No, dynamic insertion can only be activated when the unit is set up using Teleport Strike ability. This, by the way means, that you cannot use it on Draigo, for example, thanks to fluffy desctiption. Captain Coolpants
On the matter of dynamic insertion can someone explain the benefits of using it over a normal deep strike. contesting an objective mainly. Or getting right in front of a troublesome unit or character that the enemy thought was screened by keeping units 9" away from each other Or a cheeky cheap single character to squeeze right in front of another character and cast inner fire Edited June 9, 2020 by Captain Coolpants Corvus Fortis 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364419-gate-of-infinity-with-dynamic-insertion-valid-yes-or-no/#findComment-5538076 Share on other sites

Corvus Fortis
Another application is covering your heroes with placing a squad closer to enemies. Seizeman
I guess the original intention was to be able to deploy incinerators in range. With some luck, they'll become playable in 9th. Inner fire has a 1" range so you can't cast it. Even a Purifier squad is outside of Purifying Flame range unless you spend a 2nd CP to drop a Brother Captain with them. The only thing I thought off was dropping between screens and characters and then your 5 man squad will be able to get off 40 storm bolter shots or creating a screen to protect your characters. Trollbeard
I recently used it to drop a 10 man paladin squad with 4 incinerators to be in range to actually fire them. Was very effective, melted a warboss on a wartrike. And you can use Inner Fire if you use the “Powerful adept” stratagem as well. Inner fire has a 1" range so you can't cast it. 1. Sometimes your opponent not in range of the objective, but stil denies you grabbing in from DS. For example, they sent a guardsment squad to take an objective, and they are like 5" from the center. You can drop a squad in 3" and grab it. 2. With powerful adept the range is increased to 7". Used it several times, worked quite well. casb1965
So Castellan Crowe with Dynamic Insertion and Powerful Adept could do d6 smite ,throw on Empyric Surge for another +1 to cast.and Inner Fire becomes cast on 2d6+2. Nope, he can't Dynamic Insertion because he cannot teleport. So seeing as Inner Fire is a Dominus discipline power only unnamed Characters can know it, does limit our choices (or have they FAQ'ed that) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364419-gate-of-infinity-with-dynamic-insertion-valid-yes-or-no/#findComment-5538836 Share on other sites
