hello all

back into the hobby for three days now since 4th edition and all i can say is great timing; i am excited

the modelling and painting aspect of the hobby got me hooked early on as i enjoyed creating custom objects in my spare time and these days i have that

never really played before however i chosen that 9th edition will be where i start

going to pick up with a fresh start on my old white consuls army however this time i will add a major joining sisters element because i am building this army to play with my kids in the future boy 6 and girl 7

going to start small and build evenly across the forces and ill probably match the points with orks for bad guys because why not

they are fun to customize

im 38 from ottawa canada used to be a physicist and farmer now i live downtown as a cook

weird eh

i want to document the progress of the builds which is why i have joined here

more for my kids than me really because i think it would be cool

imagine at the end of all this a box with three armies terrain and rules

anyways

aiming for a nice balance of units where the game can be played at a variety of point levels

bare bones unit type gameplay and tournament list feel is not what i am going for here

the models will be pimped to a degree if for any reason the modelling aspect

anyways.... before i carry on better figure out what thread i need to go to so i can go on about the army

cheers

kevin

So starting up again pretty much? There's a lot of talented people on the B&C (not me before you ask :P ) who can help with the painting side and if you haven't already check out GW's paint range - much has changed since 4th in particular the washes are great and there's some nice technical/texture paints too. They also have some very useful tutorial and help videos on YouTube :)

8th itself (or rather soon to be 9th) is a very different beast to 4th, so it's a good thing you haven't played much before as it means you can enter with a fresh start :P
