jaxom
I've been looking at the sprues and here's what I've come up with: The Outriders still have a lot of those flat surfaces for putting all the flat Dark Angel gubbins. The 3D gubbins will probably have to be mounted on top of the riders's power packs. Bev'an
Same idea here, Corvus hammers should be easy. Thinking of using the spare hellblaster end pieces for talons. G8Keeper
Darn it, I already need 3 of the sprues for my normal guys, I guess another won't hurt. Robbienw
It is indeed still available and has load of nice bits. Seeing that shot of the outrider bike piece, it appears the legs of the rider arent modelled on the side but are seperate. Wonder if i could get a normal marine rider on there? jaxom
This is the site I got the sprue images from: http://natfka.blogspot.com/2020/06/whats-in-box-9th-edition.html One set of legs look completely separate from the bike, but two sets of legs are attached to lower parts of the chassis. Master Sheol
I was analysing the outriders sprues and i reached more or less the same conclusions but there is a couple of problems IMHO First the loadout will be fixed until we get a full kit so we don't know what weapons the sgt will be able to get (for example the intercessor sgt has a load of options but the hellblaster sgt that is based on a similar psrue never received any option) Second the sgt has a moulded helmet on his leg (and it's the sgt helmet with a skull on the forehead) and he bears the pistol with chainsword on his side and bare head so it will need some conversion work to accept othe parts (that's annoying cause i wanted to put the DA helmet on him but i will have to file away the helmet and fill the hole with acessories) Thirs adapting the robes on this bikes will be a pain in the @$$ cause the primaris are a lot bigger than firstborns and the bikes itself will be a lot larger (my guess is that they will not be on the 75x42mm oval bases but instead on the bigger 90x52mm ones) Fourth the shoulder pads are integral on the arms so it will be a pan to cut them off and swap them for RW ones (in addiction those pads appear to be slightly bigger that the right ones with bigger rimes so putting a smaller RW pad could have problems of parts of the arm to be reshaped) The only easy parts to adapt IMHO will be the bikes fairings and banner poles and ofc all the flat RW badges Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364651-primaris-outriders-and-the-ravenwing-upgrade-sprue/#findComment-5546561 Share on other sites

Brother_Darius
I've thought about conversions, but honestly I expect a Ravenwing specific box set to eventually be released. I'm going to wait it out to start. If it gets too long, then I might consider. I want consistency amongst my bikes, so i'm going to wait and see what my anticipated RW boxset might contain. jaxom
Makes sense. I'd expect a Ravenwing kit to come either with or after a full, multipart Outrider kit. ValourousHeart
I doubt that we will see a retooled outrider kit specific to Ravenwing. I expect that if we do see anything it will be similar to the chapter themed packs of shoulder pads. That way they only need the one box of outriders and 2 themed bits packs (WS and RW). All of the other chapters can likely get by with their current upgrade packs. Malakithe
We wont see a full on specific Ravenwing kit until GW is ready to 'retire' the old range and that wont be for some years. What is more likely to happen is something like ValourousHeart said...they will release more generic chapter upgrade kits that can apply to any existing Primaris kit. That being said I would be snatching up bits from the command kit too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364651-primaris-outriders-and-the-ravenwing-upgrade-sprue/#findComment-5548211 Share on other sites

Skywrath
Did the sprue, by any chance, give us a hint towards how many bikers will be in one box? Gederas
Did the sprue, by any chance, give us a hint towards how many bikers will be in one box? Three. Same as the other bikes, one Sergeant, two bikers Edited June 25, 2020 by Gederas Skywrath 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364651-primaris-outriders-and-the-ravenwing-upgrade-sprue/#findComment-5548319 Share on other sites
Master Sheol
The squads on the starter boxes are usually the minimum size for that kind of squad (axcept for troop choices that are often maxed out) so i guess the new Outriders will be a 3-6 unit in future with the multipart kit (if they don't do like the Eliminators that stay at 3 men fixed squads without any logical reason -in th kit you have all the components to build 2eliminators+1sgt OR 3 eliminators and this is done when you buy a second box to max out the squad and so you need only one sgt end int he second box all troopers) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364651-primaris-outriders-and-the-ravenwing-upgrade-sprue/#findComment-5548486 Share on other sites

Grand Master Raziel
I use bits of paper clip for my pinning needs. I also help anchor the pins with a weensy little bit of green stuff. Dark Rage
I am not so sure about the wings at the front, they seem to low in my opinion and I feel the RW wings are a symbol which is better displayed around the handles, in a more raised and exposed area. The other parts though are very well done.
