Pandaemonium
I'm looking into ordering custom transfers for my Space Marine army. I've never applied transfers before, but am concerned that going with clear might be a mistake with the transfers going over a dark color based on what I've read online. The icon I want to use will be a yellow-ish gold bird with wings that have recesses which would be placed over a naggaroth night armor pieces. I realize it'd be almost impossible to clip out all of the white background on white background based transfers, so I'd prefer to use clear so it'd just be the yellow-ish gold layed showing over the naggaroth night. However, in reading about making custom transfers, I consistently read that it's a bad idea to use clear transfers over a dark color. Is using clear decal paper going to be a mistake? Should I consider re-designing my icon to not just be a yellow-ish gold bird if I'm going to place it over such a dark color. Any insight would be deeply appreciate as I don't want to waste money on clear transfers if they won't work for my needs. Rik Lightstar
Fallout Hobbies print onto clear transfer film, but there's a first pass of white before they do your choice of colours over that so the colours stay vibrant even over dark colours.
