It won't cost me my rites, but when my sisters are up against severe witchery, I plan to attach Greyfax to the Sisters core detachment and she packs an MSU Null Maiden Vanguard with a Cullexus.

It's a bit of overkill really, but it's so cool I just can't help myself.

You can take an SoS detachment without giving up mono-codex boni?

No. If you bring any allies except for Inquisitors and Assassins using the Agents of the Imperium rules (one Agent per battalion, brigade, or patrol detachment), and/or Kyganil and Stern via Unexpected Allies, you lose Sacred Rites, Combat Doctrines, etc.

Yes, with SOS I would lose Rites. The sisters detachment would keep its <Order Traits>, but Rites, not so much.

This is why it's not a permanent part of the army- I'd use it against Thousand Sons, and really heavy psychic armies like Warlock and Farseer spam. Otherwise, I'm better off putting the points elsewhere and keeping my rites.

So yeah, that is a fluffy campaign based army, as opposed to smart choice for a pick-up game.

Was more answering High Marshal Amp's question.

That said, I finally came up with an interesting, very likely super non-competitive army idea but I'm not willing to field it in 9th when I only get to start with 5CP before pre-game expenditures instead of 13.

Celestine, Stern, and an army of Sisters leading Cypher and the Fallen (both a Fallen detachment and a Dark Angels counts-as detachment) to Holy Terra in search of redemption.
