Brother Bahram
Greatings! Got myself the starter box of Deathwatch. (No, I’m not switching fraction) Is there any pros to bring an patrol of Deathwatch in my pure DW army? (Has already a story in my head why they fight side by side” Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365056-pros-to-bringing-deathwatch-in-a-deathwing-army/ Share on other sites
Wrath of Bruinen
From a competitive perspective, the main difficulty allying death- watch and wing is that both are very elite armies so you’ll end up with a very small army that lacks board control. On top of that, they both fill similar roles in the sense that both units hose down their enemies in a storm of Bolter fire. Having said that, two things that make deathwatch stand out are 1. Frag cannons, and 2. Anti-xenos stratagems I think the best way to ally in a patrol would therefore be to take a squad loaded up with frag cannons. Take a character with a jump pack and the beacon angelis to move up the board and summon in your frag squad while the deathwing teleport in. Meanwhile, you’ll have access to some situational but cool anti xenos strats like cancelling tau marker lights on a unit or making necron Reanimation harder. It’s also worth keeping in mind that deathwatch are getting a new codex “soon” so that may bring changes, for better or worse Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365056-pros-to-bringing-deathwatch-in-a-deathwing-army/#findComment-5561090 Share on other sites
