GuardDaddy
9th Edition points: 2000 CP 10 (+5 during game) Tried to have a look at what I could do infantry wise in light of new rules. MSU approach. I split Plasma/Melta equally, but pts same so interchangable. ______________ CADIAN Battalion (Static Firebase) HQ (2) Creed Primaris Psyker ELITE (6) 3x Platoon Commander 2x Veteran Squad + lascannon + 3x Sniper TROOPS (6) 6x Infantry Squad with Lascannon(alternate same pts missile launcher) _____________ TALLARN Brigade (Mobile) HQ (3) 3x Company Commander ELITE (5) 3x Special Weapons Team (plasma or melta) 3x Astropath HEAVY (3) 3x Heavy Weapon Team - Mortar FAST ATTACK (3) 3x Scout Sentinel - multilaser TROOPS 3x Infantry Squad 9x Infantry Squad - Plasma/Melta + Plasma Pistol Edited July 15, 2020 by GuardDaddy librisrouge 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365149-9th-edition-foot-guard/ Share on other sites

Diagramdude
Your vet squads weaponry would be better off in the cadian battalion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365149-9th-edition-foot-guard/#findComment-5563531 Share on other sites
GuardDaddy
Your vet squads weaponry would be better off in the cadian battalion Layout error - you are correct - Edit: moved them - they benefit from re-roll 1/re-roll all and OFOF strat in Cadian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365149-9th-edition-foot-guard/#findComment-5563605 Share on other sites
Captain Caine 24th
Love: (1) the broad and substantial objective secured ability here; (2) forcing the enemy to choose between pointless targets and pointless targets. Worries: (1) the list is a lot of models in consideration of available space and time taken for moving models; (2) facing the one guy bringing 3x wyverns. Notes: My hunch is that this type of list will be best for guard. I'm worried tanks will be too expensive (despite some nice buffs in 9th edition). I also wonder if 'blast' will make that much of a difference. I mean if you plan on that infantry squad getting killed anyway, does it matter all that much if a battle cannon kills 3 or 6? Maybe. Against this list it gives you a score of 3 min.... that's fine. If anything 10 man units are sweet spot. Horde..ish! Deployment going to be a pain, but half army is static after that really, as new unit rules mean any movement of models = counts as moving. So you are in reality looking at 12ish units to move. This is doable, espeially with movement trays - which i think may have a renaissance as they sure make not forgetting unit coherency rules easier!! Need to get it out on table top now - got a couple of weeks away on hols then will try and knock off fair chunk of remaining infantry models paint wise.
