james71989
So long story short, i really like the new SoB models but cant stand 8th edition ruleset and will probably despise 9th the same. So was there ever 7th edition rules for SoB? What would best count as using SoB models, i was thinking either imperial militia or even blackshields. I plan to use heresy era vehicles with SoB iconography, so its really figuring out a way to use the main sisters models. I have the Sisters of Battle boxset that initially released and also picked up Celestine and the Seraphim squad. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Dagoth Ur
Imperial Militia has some great options for carapace armoured grenadiers and such (Warrior Elite + Survivors of the Dark Age would work great for SoB and cuts down a bit on numbers needed). If I were you, I'd still try and cut down on the SoB inconography itself as that'll help the army blend into the 30k setting a lot more. But y'know, you do you - it's your army Also, 1d4chan has a great article on the Imperial Militia and Cult army list. I've used it as a point of reference while planning my army. https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Imperial_Militia_and_Cults_(30k)#Provenances_of_War Edit: Another thought came to mind: What about Solar Auxilia? Brother Styphus
Cults and Milita -> Survivors of the Dark Age + Warrior Elite. Grenadiers as troops, with Bolters and 3+ saves. Easy peasy. battle captain corpus
Purely from an iconography and visual setting I feel that they just don't work within Age of Darkness. They are a intrinsic part of 40k and just don't hold well in other settings. This obviously is just my own opinion. There are no rules for them within Age of Darkness 1.0. 7th Edt would be a natural choice yes. Noserenda
Theyd work fine as a Militia/cults army but you leave yourself with an extremely limited list, just the grenadier squad really without a bunch on conversions. Ive fielded it as an allied detachment with my olllld sisters but thats about the limit of that idea unless you go land raider heavy. To be honest hey work poorly as Solar Auxilla or Sisters of silence without a lot of work too as they are generally fielding completely different gear. Blackshields could kinda work tbh as some variant or rival Astartes experiment or other genehanced troops lost to history. You can use nearly everything out of the SOB box and all the FW vehicles you fancy. Sounds like the better choice for what youd like to do tbh.Cannoness/Mistress: OfficersSOBs: Marauder squadsSeraphim: DestroyersPenitent engine: Contemptor cortusIts only the nekked guys n gals with big weapons i couldnt find an easy place for, but you could convert or use them as objectives?
