Marshal Vespasian
I used to subscribe to Asset Drop until the amount of unpainted stuff and unused tutorial tiles became too much for me. From this I have some colourshift paints (a blue triad from turbodork and green tin and white something from vallejo) lying around. Now I am wondering whatever I shall do with these things. Does someone have great Ideas or sone useful Tutorials about colourshifting paints that they could share? Rik Lightstar
They work best airbrushed over a gloss black undercoat and require a few coats to get the full effect. They also tend to work best on larger surfaces where the effects are more noticeable. My experiment with them was on the Avatar of Khaine from the Daughters of Khaine Cauldron of Blood and I was reasonably happy with it, but I doubt its going to make a big impact on anything much smaller, it'll mostly just look like a colourful mettalic rather than having the "colour shift" be noticeable. Evil Eye
Pretty much what Rik said, though it is worth noting they can be handbrushed. I've taken to using them for the eyes on my Emperor's Children, and also (by airbrush) the insect wings on my Tyranids. Note that whilst the effect works best over gloss, you can use different colours to get different effects. The most obvious is using white instead of black to get a more pearl-y finish, but other colours could work well too.
