I imagine this thread’ll be pretty slow going, with the glacial pace I usually paint at, but I have got a bit better lately (almost painted 5 whole Tau planes for AI don’t ya know) so we’ll see if this momentum continues at all. 
 

After probably a solid 2 weeks of flip flopping and annoying my girlfriend and pretty much everyone else I know, I finally decided on a Legio to paint my titans up as. I’m going with Fureans. Not only do they look pretty sweet, but I like their history. As was mentioned on the Full Stride podcast, the idea of these really high tech war engines being crewed by basically tribal savages who worship their titans as gods is both extremely 40k and very cool. I’ll be following the Goonhammer guide for Fureans so the result should look a bit like this with any luck:

 

 

So far I’ve primed and undercoated the skeleton for my Warlord leadbelcher, and the armour panels on the sprue have been undercoated Wraithbone ready for the yellow. No photos yet, I’m sure most of us have seen a leadbelcher Warlord skeleton at this point!

 

In terms of force composition, this is the 1750 point list I’ve roughly thrown together as something to kind of work towards. It’s just a mix of stuff I’ve picked up through osmosis, reading various tactica pages, (mostly) weapons I already own and stuff I think looks cool (Warlord powerclaw - coolest Warhammer weapon I’ve ever built? Very possibly). If it’s completely rubbish, feel free to let me know.

Reaver - Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Gatling Blaster, Laser Blaster, Hunting Auspex

Reaver - Turbo Laser Destructor, Melta Cannon, Power Fist

Warhound - Plasma Blastgun, Vulcan Megabolter

Warhound - 2x Turbo Laser Destructors

 

Support Warlord - Vulcan Megabolters, Arioch Power Claw, Sunfury Plasma Annihilator, Hunting Auspex

 

2x Cerastus Knight Lancers

 

1750 pts on the nose.

Nice to see another Fureans Princeps around!   Looking forward on your progress with them.

 

I also went with the rule of cool for my Fureans Regia, and I think that there is nothing wrong with it! If you like the Power Claw (as much as I do... ) then you should go for it! I've never seen anything as imposing as a giant robot, bigger than a freaking tower, rocking around with a massive claw, slicing other steel gods into pieces. Maybe if we could get a Warlord-sized chainsword, that would match the insanity of this concept!

On the other hand the Warlord is a bit slow for close quarters, so you need to push the reactors to get into the right position. But I'm no expert in these sort of things... didn't have that many experience with the game.

Honestly if I hadn’t have bit the bullet and bought the paints I’d probably still be deciding. The Vulturum scheme from Ryza is pretty damn cool...
