so first off I'm not sure if they will be able to be used for 9th and further more for matched play. But I was thinking about one aspect of the mini faction. The 'all deploy at once' when Malleux is taken.

Spending 1 cp to outflank multiple units seems good even if they're mostly junk.

I'd take

Malleux

2x Commisars

2x traitor guards

1x cultists

3x firebrand

1x ogryn

1x negavolt cultists

507pts

11 individual units that just pop in. Use the Commisars to boost the advance and charge if needed. Those firebrands d6 assault str 5 ap1 2 dmg flamers...they make salamanders jealous

When i play traitors I spam red corsairs marines and terminators or knights...these guys would be great for objective push or delayed deployment so they aren't shot to hell first thing

But yeah if they won't be legal then my random scheming is meaningless

Well they got updated points in Chapter Approved and not seen anything that says they're not useable. Certainly has some potential as a way of getting them on the board and allowing them to make some impact when they do so

I assume you are referring to the Servants of the Abyss rule as how you would get all of the units to outflank for 1CP. Are you meaning to use the strat to put him into reserves? If so, I'm not sure eit works that way since Servants of the Abyss just says that they are set up at the same time he is and that all units with this ability must be set up within 6" of him or in the same transport or be destroyed. Nothing I can see says that means you can deploy them in reserves for free.

Edit: After looking over the actual Strategic Reserves rule, I now understand.
