sturguard
Hey folks, As far as rules go, are the free downloadable rules the same as what is in the new hardback rulebook or are there extra rules? I prefer not to spend $40-50 on the rulebook if the pdf I have has the same rules. Thanks! jay170788
Just buy the $20 Chapter approved. It has all the rules you need to play. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365477-9th-edition-rulebook/#findComment-5572301 Share on other sites
Valerian
Hey folks, As far as rules go, are the free downloadable rules the same as what is in the new hardback rulebook or are there extra rules? I prefer not to spend $40-50 on the rulebook if the pdf I have has the same rules. Thanks! The free Core Rules has everything but the Narrative/Crusade stuff, and is also missing the core Eternal War missions. The free download only has 1 really basic mission, just like the free 8e downloadable rules did. The Grand Tournament 2020 Mission Pack has all of the Core Rules, as well as the missions that all of the Organized Events are going to be using, in a spiral bound soft cover format. That’s the one to buy, if you want to save money, and don’t care about Narrative play. Valerian
Where would I find the Grand Tournament 2020 Mission Pack Valerian? On the GW store it is bundled with the Field Manual (updated points), but you might find it separately on eBay. Here is the GW store link. sturguard
Thats $40 too! The irony is when I think bundle, I think discount. GW's idea of bundle is, we sell them together at full price but save you the time of clicking two items to add to your cart. Yeah, I was looking at spending like $20-30. Maybe feebay? MegaVolt87
Wait, I thought all the detachment and terrain stuff was only in the big rule book too? I think the blast weapons page also wasn't in it? Unless I missed it somewhere in that CA bundle. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365477-9th-edition-rulebook/#findComment-5573810 Share on other sites
Kobrakei
It also has different secondary objectives - the ones in the rulebook don't quite correlate with the ones in the GT Pack.
