lobbinskij
I found the base of this list a few editions ago and it looked like a fun list. After that, a couple of editions have passed and I still haven't really got any further. How does a list like look now in the 9th edition? Note that the list is converted from earlier version and currently not fully compliant, 2035/2000 :) HQ: 95 Chaplain Grimaldus 95 Troops: 576 Crusader Squad (10 Initiates) 7 with BP/CS, 1 with BP/PF, 1 with a melta-gun, 1 SB with BP/PS, 3 Neophytes with BP/CS. 217. Hymnblade
Sadly, most of the units in this list are pretty bad in 8th/9th. Crusader Squads in particular are pretty fragile and don't do nearly enough damage to justify their point cost. Land Raiders were quite bad in 8th, although they've gotten a little better in 9th. Venerable Dreadnoughts are still pretty good, although twin las/storm bolter is a better loadout for most purposes than multimelta/flamer. You can't put them in regular drop pods, but there is a dreadnought drop pod, or you could put them in Strategic Reserves. lobbinskij
Nice catch on the drop pods. Probably got replaced in the conversion between editions. Another few points over the limit then :) Suggestions on the troops? CCE1981
Primaris Intercessors to hold the rear or the new Assault Intercessors with the new and improved Astartes Chainswords if you want them to run to the middle of the board. Incursors might be a good idea as well to forward deploy them for early objective grabs or to get into the fight with your opponent first turn. Medjugorje
to be honest. For the new edition I would try your list except the dreadknoughts are not allowed to take drop pods but they would fit into the MSU concept of the new edition. With the Aurelian shroud in first round your units would be very tough so I think its okay to take them.
