Hey everyone! This is going to be a thread for my sister's of Battle. Sisters and Custodes are currently my 2 most played armies. I've been collecting sisters since 6th edition.

When I started collecting my sister's, I wasn't particularly good at painting so I had some friends do some commissions for me.

This was my first batch of commissions;

Front and center is Celestine with her buddies.

Next up we have my old Celestine and Inquisitor Greyfax. The old Celestine was actually painted by a different painter, but that was the only model he painted for me so I'm including her here to make life easy.

After that is a raging Heroes model I typically use for my Blade of Admonition Cannoness.

And finally, a bunch of Battle sisters, and some vehicles.

My second commission was mostly vehicles, Seraphim and Raging Heroes models.

We'll start with a group shot;

Then we've got my characters. Some are GW models, some are Raging Heroes.

Next up is my seraphim and some nuns that I used for Storm Bolter Doms last edition.

We've got my Repentia, all Raging Heroes models

And then some Battle Sisters

And last, some vehicles. Mostly immolators with a single Repressor.

And now for my current progress! Before COVID hit, we started an escalation league just have fun and help get through some of the painting backlog everyone had. I was in the process of moving at the time so I figured I'd go with Custodes to have less to paint. We were only a few months in when the virus hit. I finished by 2k points of Custodes for the league and there was still no sign of my FLGS opening back up. Then 9th was announced and the decision to start the league over once the store is back open was made! I decided to use my sisters this time, as an excuse to get my fancy new models painted up

I'm mostly using contrasts, for the fabric, skin and armor. And them doing some effects and metalics with regular paints.

This is what I have finished so far;

As you can see, it's a mixture of new models, old models and 3rd party models. I'm pretty much just working through my entire backlog.

Here are some characters, these are mostly Raging Heroes.

I also painted up 15 Seraphim, 5 from the new box and 10 from RH. And then the Repentia and Arco flagellants from the box set.

And to top it off, here is my current to-do list.

gallery_85068_16554_197201.jpg

I do plan to add more to it as the league goes on. An exorcist, an immolator, some zephrym, a few more Repentia and a bunch of characters will slowly be joining my backlog over the coming months.

Fantastic armies! All of the models are gorgeous and have great personality. It's hard to single out just one as favorite. I've been fighting with which army to use in our crusade but my sisters list is the most likely.

Thanks everyone! I'm really proud of my progress. Maybe I'll post my absolutely hideous first army I painted at some point so y'all can see how much better I've gotten.

And for my latest model, I painter up Junith for the Escalation League I'm in! I think she came out amazing.

Love Junith; I'm not super keen on the model itself, but your paint makes it look awesome. Also really like the Arcos. But the star of the show for me is that repentia with the light purple hair and the spikey collar; she's awesome.

Great work.

Thank you so much! And I agree that the purple haired one came out wonderfully. And I was a bit worried that the skin tone didn't look quite right at first!

I see you’re also a barefoot painter. Have you got many games in with your escalation league?

We were 2 games in when COVID derailed it. We currently don't have a restart date yet. We're in Florida and the store owner is being very cautious. It looks like we're passed the peak now though so hopefully we'll have a date soonn Edited by TheFinisher4Ever

Got some more painting done over last couple of weeks. First up is an Anchorite. This is my first new Sisters model that I'm just not thrilled with. I'm definitely looking for suggestions on how to improve for my other 2 penitent engines/mortifiers.

And in better news, I did up my first 5 battle sisters so I have a valid patrol detachment now! I'm actually really happy with these. I noticed I forgot to paint the candle flames on the superiors base after I already took the pictures so those are done on the model.

Looking good. I agree that the anchorite needs something, right now it's very black and metal. What about painting the sarcophagus red like the cloth on your regular sisters?  I think it just needs something to break up the flatness of all black.

It's been a while since Ive updated everyone! With the release of the 9th edition codex and the revival of local tournaments, I figured now was a good time to dive back in.

So I painted one more Penitent Engine and a Mortifier. I like them much, much better than the anchorite.

Next up we have an army shot of everything else I've painted since I last posted.

gallery_85068_16554_1021518.jpg

To break down what we've got here, I'll start with the characters. We have a blessed blade cannoness, a Dialogus and a preacher.

gallery_85068_16554_368549.jpg

gallery_85068_16554_685584.jpg

Next up is my 3 man arcoflaggelants squad. Once again, the contrast paints just do an incredible job on skin. I couldn't recommend it any more for things like repentia and arcos.

gallery_85068_16554_454622.jpg

gallery_85068_16554_94319.jpg

And finally we have a bunch of battle sisters.

gallery_85068_16554_55196.jpg

And that's it! Let me know what you think! Next up on my painting table is Vahl, an Imagifier, a Palatine and a command rod Cannoness. I will hopefully make some progress on them this weekend but we'll see what my 5 month old has to say about that.
