Hi there. I like your slam lord and that you are using more than min core, even including some csm troops. With this in mind I'll try to give some input based on the theme of the list.

The DA I feel is largely wasted pts. Very prone to failing and not high enough impact. I suggest dropping or changing this guy.

Cultist blob has merit but Max it. Also I don't feel they warrant any support.. Such as DA etc but otherwise not a bad start. Wish they retained the legion trait.

The full csm squad seems functional and I'll keep my critical feelings of our troops to myself lol. But I suggest adding a cbplas. Or alternately go with 2 reaper cc and a cbbolter instead.

The 4th troops choice aka min size csm I would suggest dropping. They just won't contribute compared to other category choices.

Zerks I have a weird attachment to but in this edition I really recommend going with 2x5 dropping the plas pistol and getting power swords or lightning claws on the champs. In the past I would say larger single units and PF but blasts are everywhere. On that note I would suggest mechanising both the zerks and the full csm squad. One of the rhinos can double as protection for the Las havocs if you go second.

I love my contemptors but I feel yours is over equipped. I'd suggest losing the ectoplasma. Double up if you have the models.

Las havoc are great. RCC havoc I'm not a fan of. I feel like 10 csm with 2 RCC are preferable.. Considering you will have better things to do with cacophony, prescience etc. I would suggest dropping these and/or transferring them into your second csm making them 10 strong.

The Achilles was a beast in ages past. Now I'm concerned this model is too costly for its durability and impact. Hate to say it but I'd drop it. That said if you got the model then rule of cool right.

As for what you could spend extra pts on ID suggest some combo of these:

Oblits

Termies

Lord discordant

Heldrake/defiler

Warp talons- even at these extortionist pts.

And definitely take master of diversion over cult leader. This trait wins games.

That's what I got.

I have found that the DA is really fun when you run 30 cultists giving them a 5++ then weaver of fate for a 4++, people ignore them or put everything into them, either works with me as it gives me board control.

And yes i hate how cultists dont get legion traits and now 6pts a piece, and csm are just useless at 14pts a piece and just nothing that makes them amazing, i am thinking of not running my reaper chaincannon havoc's so i can use the models as CSM, but reaper chaincannons are 1 a box...
Also when it comes to doing combi-plasma i would love to but also no combi-plasma option for CSM... as in no model for it...

The 4th troops was because i had points left really.

Also the Land Raider fits 6 models, so the havoc's can hide in there.

Thank you for pointing out the berzerkers, seems i misclicked on the plasma pistol guy, but i see what you mean by 2 squads of 5... but i would rather the 10 for vets of the long war and attack again from khorne stratagem.

I have never used a contemptor dreadnought before but reason i have the ectoplasma is thats what the dreadclaw comes with... and im only running one as my club calls "cheese" with any forgeworld but i asked if they would be ok with me using one the way its setup and my mate that plays more fun than try to win said its fine as long as i dont do annoying double butcher cannons and run lots of them.

Lascannon havocs to me are ALWAYS a must have in all my lists now, and yes reaper chaincannons havocs ive found people target asap and make sure you never ever ever get to use them :sad.:

Yes the Land Raider Achilles is more for i love the model and its nice to be t8 w19 with 4++ or 3++ with weaver of fate, which can be great when you warp-time it up and sit it in the way of their army, and now that vehicles can shoot what they are in combat with, charging with it is really good as it heals from melee, so to me i think its great, but i also just love the model :biggrin.:

i have 4 oblits which i have been thinking of pushing in a squad of 3, i dislike termies and will never buy them sadly, lord discordant i would love, dont like helbdrakes or defilers, and warp talons i do like but once again prob will never get sadly.

yeah i like diversion over cult leader but everyone in my club always forget to kill my cultists as i make them so annoying to get rid of.

But if i did remove DA and got oblits i would put in my Master of Pos with Faceless Commander as it can teleport to the oblits when they deepstrike, which then you can give them 4++ and re-roll 1s to hit and to wound, its pretty good, but ive found its not amazing for pts worth.

But i do thank you for the help as ive only been playing through about half of 8th, i got into the game slightly before the version 2 Chaos Codex came out, so im still learning and struggle with placement of models and where is good to be and move etc.

I will try make up another list with your idea's if you would be keen to take a look again? I do very much love help <3

EDIT:
Oh and also, reason i take the khorne berzerkers is because my friend gifted me a box of the super old models in the old box, as he knew its only way to get chain axes, i do own 12 noise marines, 2 of them having blastmasters so could run 10 squad of noise marines, or my friend said if i ever wanted he can lend me his rubric marines for a nice tanky squads with all is dust, and i also have a club member will to sell some of his plague marines too which could make one scary melee/range mix in the rhino, so it doesnt have to be berzerkers.

What about this?

I think the second version has more teeth with the potential for EC conceal oblits and more staying power with the additional csm bodies without really losing firepower. I like zerks a lot myself even if they don't always perform, same with cultists so thats a tough call leaving these out. The 3rd csm unit might be better as 30 cultists but then I don't see where you would find pts except from HQs or the achilles. This edition is about reducing hero hammer it seems. Maybe Try it and see.. 30 cultists with tide is a pretty good unit if they don't get wiped in one turn. Also able to assault most of the board from strategic reserves to tie up multiple units automagically upon arrival and probably out-obsec enemy troops at the same time. Hard to over state the impact of that really.

On FW your club is stuck in the past to be blunt. My group was for awhile too lol. FW was busted for most of the editions I played (3rd through current) but now FW is pretty over costed almost across the board. A more objective approach would be better. Also consider FW is going to GW so that argument will be moot anyway.
