General Tullius
Preface: I'm new to non-C:SM armies and torn between T'au and AdMech. I'd fancy an Armiger or two to go with the AdMech, if not something bigger. Seems I've got a thing for huge war machines on legs But to me, it appears that with the new Superheavy Detachment rules as well as the reduced importance of sheer killing power, Knights might no longer be worth what it takes to take them. Is this because I have no idea what I'm talking about or is it because that's how it is? Focslain
As a support unit, yeah might not be worth it. As the primary fighting force? They aren't bad, the armigars are pretty good this edition since they can hide like other vehicles and both types are decent at what they do. Especially the helverin with the Thin Their Ranks strat. Imperator Deus
I should start by saying that I don't quite have enough AdMech models to make a pure 2000 pt list yet, so my Hawkshroud Knight Crusader helps me pad out my list. I'm thinking about what to buy next to get my AdMech over the 2000 pt line, but for now I'm having fun with the Knight. I used my Knight with my AdMech in a three 9th ed. games now and so far I think it's worth it. It got blown up before I even got my first turn against Primaris Salamanders, but that's probably to be expected, lol! It lasted 4 turns against a Tau Farsight Enclave crisis suit spam army, and it stayed in the fight until turn 5 against Adeptus Sororitas. Tt did very well in the games against Tau and Sisters. It did a good chunk of damage, captured some objectives and pushed the enemy off of others. It was easily worth the 3CP tax. If you have a Knight handy I would recommend adding it to your army. I do have some Warglaives, but I haven't put them on the table yet, I will soon though! Clingy
Sure thing House raven Castellan 620 Preceptor with chainsword and Ironstorm 420 6x warglaives with meltas Advancing everything gave me serious mobility and I just had so much anti tank it was great. Having so many thermals and meltas means you are punching through invulnerable saves Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365819-knights-worth-it-in-9th-right-now/#findComment-5589808 Share on other sites
