Wanted to bring attention to the Rumors thread of regular terminators having 3 wounds.  That will greatly benefit our Deathwing Brothers as i'm sure they'll get it too!  What do you plan to do with this new found buff?

What do you plan to do with this new found buff?

10 man squad with two heavy flamers. Combat squad them so that you have your two heavy flamers in one combat squad, deepstrike them somewhere convenient and then just burn with those 12" heavy flamers!

Even if they do go up in points they will finally feel like the elites they are meant to be.

Winning on the table and efficiency is less important to me than how they sit in the hierarchy of Astartes.

Call me idealistic, but considering the DWK and the Terminators already went up 5-10 points, I'd say they factored that change in with mind. Not the T5 I was hoping for, but 3 wounds apiece is still pretty damn good. Either way, I wonder whether this change will apply to Deathwing Knights, because if so, then if you have the points, you'd still be taking DWK over TH/SS Terminators.

presently RAW says chainfists boost people saves by +4 RAI it should be -4 AP which is actually not bad

an interesting thing that worries me grievously is that their doing all this so the dark angels arent a terribad army because if they release the lion as a model then nobody would buy him.

lets set the stage, dark angels are a terrible army and suddenly they produce a 60 dollar lord of war model and suddenly hes useless or he has to be so wildly absurdly broken that the community calls for immediate nerfs. so either he doesn't get sold or it comes across as pay 2 win. but if the core rules basically say "just play dark angels" (metaphorically) suddenly releasing the lion actually makes a lot of sense. and he becomes actually a really enticing buy for a lot of players and none are really the wiser that they've done it to turn a profit only to kick the wheels out from under us down the line

The essence of playing Dark Angels.

true

as a side note this means terminator HQ's are going to +1 wound that makes terminator captains and chaplains actually pretty legit. and belial becomes slightly less trash

It's looking like this will be an across the board increase, and benefit more than just the Terminators.

This is great news. I have both Primaris and normal Space Marine forces, and I like painting and using both.

It would be even better if they remove the transport restriction.

It looks like TH have a different damage characteristic as well. I think a lot of weapons that the Deathwing will take could end up different. To me, it seems obvious at this point that the Corvus Hammer and the Mace of Absolution will be more potent as well.

Well, I know what I'm doing with my assault intercessors now.  I didn't want to mix due to scale issues; however, with the new 2W for firstborn, I have no qualm using those primaris bodies to convert Vanguard Veterans or something, assuming we get them when we get rolled into the codex.  I feel the scale will match the new stats.

Wow, I gotta say, I feel like this will rise up quite the storm of people complaining that these game continues to become not Warhammer 40k, but rather Space Marine 40k. Still, as a Firstborn player, I am ABSOLUTELY jumping with joy at the idea of getting that extra wound. Plus, my WYSIWYG company master already uses a Master Crafted Thunder Hammer.... getting that into D5 range is going to be sweet.

/happy terminator noises/

With 3 wounds, 12" heavy flamers and flat 2 dmg power fists deathwing terminators would be more effective against both chaff, vehicles and elites. -1 to-hit with cyclones and assault cannons and inability to use flamers after deep strike was a huge pain in 8th edition, so at least we'll have some options now.
