Hi there B&C. I've been building a js app for making lists in AT. Check it out at www.ReactorCount.com

I was reluctant to post because, well my real name is attached, and its the the only hobby thing Ive done in the last month.

What you can do:

make basic household/legio lists and print to file

rename elements like maniples, titans etc.

basic level of validation for overall list (missing things like limited acastus)

PDF printout can add custom icon, name

Still to do:

More info about legio selected on page/printout

Legio specific wargear

Titans of Legend

Saving/loading files or db storage

mobile-specific layout

As one dude working spare-time nothing is going to be there quickly. Thought I'd share here.

Nice work. Seems solid, though I didn't exercise it that hard for the first run.

Look forward to putting it through it's paces.

Did I miss it, or does it have a print option yet?

Prints to text format and PDF with AT styling and custom icon/names and such. Built a whole other document app for that. See top right buttons.

Also can swap between legio/household at top right

I tried to be clever with selecting titans for maniples and allowing for the custom legio swaps which had a ton of conditional states to watch for, but it would've been easier for user / me to just say: "click the titan on the required list, add that titan". Would be less fiddly then dropdown as well.

Why get this when you've got battlescribe?

Well you can take it or leave it no problem, but I've built this as a personal portfolio piece on javascript.

Working on other node project too but making this about AT helped my motivation greatly (who wants to make another sample shopping cart app?)

Does it take less memory space?

dude if you can offline files the site and just check file dependencies; you could run your own copy at 12 mb in-browser

part of why I chose js was avoid server side for the moment and see what can be done here, I'm very interested in learning about data serialization for saving to cookies or local files.

that component should also work with local browser support.

This seems to work pretty well. I always find it a bit unnecessary to use tools like this for AT, when there are still only seven units in the game, but it's a good thing for people who want it. I'll probably carry on using excel.

Awesome! I really like the design and the fact everything seems to be there.

Wow and the print to pdf option with the titanicus background. Really good work!

Thanks! Unsure if it is obvious to new users or not but you can also change the logo that displays at top of pdf. On print page click the Rc logo to upload your own file

edit:

a few things still left to do

All the legio options aren't working 100% (things like gryph. titan upgrades only applying to reavers that were swapped in) or checking scale for swap-in

No titans of legend.

No selecting princeps senioris or titan leaders.

perhaps more user options on how the PDF is printed, cleaner option, more legio data shown etc.

I know what you mean, But in a way that's why I chose this for a project, small data set. Imagine trying to compete with Battlescribe on something as convoluted as 40k? I like having all the info in one place for the Legios/maniples/points costs.

I should have an alternative selector for things like maniples where user can see more of the maniple info before adding to their list.

When it's well done, a dedicated army list builder is often far better than battlescribe. The advantage of battlescribe is that it can do (and does) everything. But I appreciate the added clarity and usability of a tool tweaked to match a particular game.

In AT there are few units, but there is actually quite a lot of customization and it may be difficult to get the full picture with a total of 5 books available.

I just tried it out and it was pretty neat, I think you’re getting there. I like the layout but we are definitely missing maniple rules unless I didn’t see them :/

The text explaining in-game maniple rules isn't hard to add, just data entry and some styles. The legio stuff is more indepth.

If you want different maniples you select top-left dropdown then 'add maniple', then it autofills with required titans as you add them.

Hi, just been having a play with the app. First off, thanks so much for doing this, I much prefer dedicated apps to using BattleScribe.

I have a question/potential bug. I have started a new roster, selected my Legio (Atarus), selected an Axiom maniple, and put my first few titans in. I realised I’d misnamed one of my titans and wanted to edit or delete just that Titan but it would only let me delete the whole maniple. So I did that, started to recreate it, and when I added another Axiom maniple it now comes prepopulated with the titans I put in the previous time. Is there a way to clear these out?

Thanks again!

That is VERY interesting behavior, good to know if there is a maniple bug somewhere. Quick note is you can goto load/save and hit new list, then save to cookies so it stays cleared on reload.

Quick question is clarifying legio and naming. You are setting legio 'then' adding maniple? I currently have it so you set legio on each maniple seperately so next maniple would need to be set to atarus individually. Also you set titans name but couldn't set it again? Then its own delete button did not delete it?
