Frostglaive
I have a feeling this should be in General PCA, but considering it's specifically geared towards AdMech and I'm not looking for How-To's, I'm hoping this will be the right subforum. If not, I apologize in advance, Mods. That being said... I'm rebuilding my AdMech army from the ground up. I'm trying to give the army more of an Underhive theme to it. They're scavengers. Absolutely willing to use xenotech and totally hereteks in every sense of the word, but not fallen to Chaos. Just renegades. So far, what I've been doing is using GSC Neophyte Hybrids and Necromunda Cawdor Gang and mixing them with the Skitarii. It's worked out great so far for them. In addition, I've been using Atalan Jackals from GSC for both Raiders and Sulphurhounds. The Raiders I use the actual bikes, give the models Skitarii Ranger heads, then either have them holding a galvanic rifle, or have them storing it somewhere on their person/bike. The ATVs, since I can attach a Heavy Flamer to it, I use those as Sulphurhounds. So far my plans are working (I apologize for a lack of pictures. I'm posting this from work and don't have access to my photos here... that, and I'm stupid and can never figure out how to upload photos here, despite being given detailed instructions numerous times...). But all I've got so far are Skitarii and Serberys units. I need to start figuring out the rest of my units. Some ideas I currently have: - Find a way to mount a Neutron Laser and something resembling a shield generator to a Goliath Truck (used as Onager Dunecrawler). - I've seen Armiger bodies being used on Onager bases before, so I may try that as well for an Onager. - I want to find a way to implement Tau Crisis Suits and Stealth Suits as well, but I'm not entirely sure what for yet. Not for Kastelan Robots though. The plan is to use only other GW kits, not other companys' models. And preferably not anything Chaos related, but if it works then it works. I'm trying to thoroughly avoid the creepy demon fleshy look to my rusty raider boys. Any ideas you guys may have? Anything you guys have tried before? Kits I could use for something AdMech? Zebulon
I like this conceptually and practically. However, I’d love to see some pictures! Hope you can sort it out. I would imagine some of the ork buggies could be repurposed? After all, if orks can do it then the admech should be more than capable of harnessing those hot rods’ machine spirits?! crazy_tuco
I can tell you that the torso for a Tau stealth suit fits in the hole where the Kastelan kit’s head goes. I’ve got almost ten of them built that way. I’ll see if I can figure out how to post a picture here. Oddly enough this AdMech player is not at all tech savvy. The wires/tubes from the side of the head are from the electro-priest kit. Subtle Discord
Nope, the Goliath is actually begging to become a Bellaros Energy Cannon artillery vehicle if you ask me, but I suppose a Neutron Laser could work too. I was saving this to show in my own thread at some point in the near future but your topic coaxed it out of me here. If you can find a solution for the servitor that operates the turret I suspect you might be able to get the turret components from people who have built the Dunerider version of the Scorpius easily/cheaply enough. Now, how to get the Disruptor missiles and extra Heavy Stubbers on there are what I'm trying to work out. Bjorn Firewalker
I can tell you that the torso for a Tau stealth suit fits in the hole where the Kastelan kit’s head goes. The new "head" is oversized for the Kastellan, which is proportioned like a human; it looks silly in consequence. It may look better if you convert the Kastellan into a werewolf- say, replace the legs with those of a Sydonian Dragoon's, and then paint a wolf's jaws on the head- for terror attacks against enemy collaborators.Nope, the Goliath is actually begging to become a Bellaros Energy Cannon artillery vehicle if you ask me, but I suppose a Neutron Laser could work too. This is an ingenious conversion. Will it retain the ability to transport infantry units, like the original Goliath? Will it retain the ability to transport infantry units, like the original Goliath? Thanks. Nope, it's meant to be a counts-as Skorpius Disintegrator tank with the Bellaros Cannon, so no transport capacity and I wanted it to have the heavier feel. However, if you wanted to leave the 'cap' off of the back and leave the flatbed open and ready to transport some troops, I can't see why not, but it won't really match anything in the AdMech codex if it keeps the cannon. I've built my official Skorpius kits as the Dunerider transports and these will be Disintegrator artillery support; I really like the Skorpius as the transport, as it really looks the part, but the tank version just doesn't do it for me so this is a good solution in my case. Xisor
Awesome stuff so far, I really like it! --- I've been essentially using a Goliath as my Dunerider for a while. The twin-autocannon standing in for three heavy stubbers. I've been thinking that a mix of Achilles/Goliath pretty much makes a Skorpius too - you've got autocannons for the big gun, a mortar for the belleros, a missile launcher etc. Assuming they've loaded rad-missiles or something, and you're sorted! Sentinels with some creative additions would work as Dunestriders too. I've been musing on proxying some Necromuna stuff too: - Ambots (or the new Ogryn gangers) as Breachers (grav cannon by their little grav guns, ogryn arc guns as heavy arc rifles) - Goliath gangers as Ruststalkers - Delaques as Infiltrators? The bases discrepancy is a bit difficult, but maybe kitbashing arms onto them would work? But I think there's a done of opportunity there. I've seen Cawdors with Ranger heads looking ace (though not done it myself), so you're on a good track! --- For another take on the Onager, I wonder if rigging up something from spare Astra Militarum/Space Marine guns and the Galvanic Servo-haulers would work? The Onager's ostensibly on a fairly huge base anyway, so there's a lot of space to work with. Almost like a poor man's Ordinatus looking thing. (Or a more scavenged looking Chaos Dwarf-style artillery train.)
