I was loking at the map of 40k today and i didn't find the Rock until i realise it was in the south part of the Galaxy where the Pariah Nexus is.

Anyone know why the Rock move there or if it's for future developement?

The Rock is not on the Galactic map in the Core Rulebook, but you can see where he is on the Galactic map on the 40k website.

For ref, the 40k website

GW wants the DA ready for the next meta-story/war zone and since it's the only "home world" that can actually move, they seem to move it most every Edition on the map (when they have one).

I want to say it's just in the location of the last galaxy map I saw with the rock on it, which was PA or white dwarf or something like that.

Of course, that meant nothing then, but you're right, it's just shy of the Pariah Nexus. It is slightly off from what I see.

The Rock is the closest faction to the nexus.

In ROTD the Rock was locate on the other side of the Rift, Azreal send Lazarus and his 5th Company and a complement of Deathwing and Ravenwing but there was no mention of the Rock moving to the Planet of Sorcerer.

The fallen are gattering in the Nihilus Sector (Somnium Stars).

I just want to know what can bring the Rock there, taking the risk of moving across the Rift when all info we have had the Fallen gathering on the other side of the Rift.

I mean you say it yourself - the existence of our black armoured friends. That's the only reason why they would cross the Nihilus. If not that, then it's to do with the Edge of Silence campaign, one or the other. Perhaps those two facts could be connected?

perhaps the dark angels have struck a deal with mr trazyn, maybe we have a bigger plan involved. could u imagine if the necrons help us cross the nexus so we can fight the fallen, or maybe for something else. weve done deals with aliens before (see war of secrets)

Very curious to see what the reasoning for that is - perhaps that points to the involvement of the DA with the Edge of Silence scenario? Hopefully that is one step closer to them realising the Lion is very much alive.

I know it is wishful thinking but how cool would it be for GW to reveal 40k rules for the Lion to coincide with the release of his 30k model later this year.  Of course he would only have the Wolfblade until he can get the Lion Sword back from Cypher.

I think it might mean a larger conflict in the Pariah nexus and the surrounding area. That is the setting thus far at least.

I do hope we see more campaign books as compared to 8e. I would much prefer they get the rules sound enough at the start so that the content can be more lore, missions, maps, etc. I really prefer the content that goes into the HH black books for instance.

The Rock and the Fallen was on the same side of the Rift before. When you read the narative in ROTD moving accross the Rift look like a realy dangerous journey. I can't wait to see what is more important for the DA than the Fallen building Legion size.

Maybe after the event on Vigilus ablaze, the DA salvage the Voidclaw and they are investigating the technology that are probably link to the Necron.

Looking at previous Code: Space Marines maps, it moved there with 6th edition...

Good Catch, maybe they have a recruting world there.

Thing is, The Rock has been down there by Rynn’s World in every C:SM ‘dex since (except when they didn’t feature such a map, like in 7th I think). Back in 5th it was close to Medusa on the far side of the Eye... Are the C:SM maps inconsistent with other sources?

Last C:SM i had is 3ed, but the Rock is on different part of the map in many book. In the 9e Rulebook there is no mention of the Rock position.

GW like to move the Rock arround the galaxy on map. I always like looking at the galactic map to find where he his.

The Rock is effectively a giant asteroid with engines built into it - in other words a giant space ship - so why would anyone expect it to stay in the same place? But, do the DA have a recruitment world in or around the Pariah Nexus, or is being there about all kinds of other fun?  No reason it couldn't be both.
