A space wolf list is competing for the invitational championship tomorrow. Playing harlequins for the title.

All the lists are available to review if you are curious how competitive 9th edition lists look.

I have watched 3 of his game now I think:

-Astra militarum with 3 tank commanders

-Chaos list with Magnus smite spam pre FAQ and tons of nurglings

-Chaos list post FAQ replacing Magnus with 2 scorpius whirlwinds

The player was using ultra marines previously but swapped to SW because the obsec for all rule at the time. The faqs didn't go into effect until his last few games.

Very good player but not familiar with SW nuances yet. In the semi final today he tried to consolidate into ahriman and attack when wulfen died.

Judges ruled ahriman wasn't declared as the charge target so they wouldn't permit wulfen to attack upon death (a ruling I agree with 100%).

His other play is awesome though. Good defensive screening and melee placement etc.

He mowed through chaos lists and nurgling spam (1000 points worth) like it was nothing.

His usage of the wolf tail talisman has been impressive shutting down psykers.

My favorite play so far is a wolf priest with low wounds remaining going YOLO into ahriman and another psyker and walking away alive.

I watch the matches on YouTube on my phone as background noise while I work or do hobby stuff

Huh might have to give this a watch if I have a moment today.

Side note while I agree with the rules as written ruling on death frenzy, fluff wise it doesn't really translate properly imho.

I do find his list to be pretty interesting, in line with alot of the ideas we have all floated here. Curious to see how it goes.

Edit; fat fingered the post button before finishing my thought
