I've posted this list before but I'm at the point where I need to order the last 2 boxes (for now) and I'm not sure which ones I should go for.

I have:

1x Exalted Sorcerer w/ Inferno Pistol and Staff

1x Sorcerer w/ Inferno Pistol and Staff

3x 10 Rubrics w/ Inferno Pistol, Staff, Soulreaper and 2 Warpflamers

2x 10 Scarab Occult Terminators w/ Staff, 1 Soulreaper and 1 Hellfyre Missile Rack

Now either I'm gonna add

1x 10 Scarab Occult Terminators w/ Staff, 1 Soulreaper and 1 Hellfyre Missile Rack

or I'm gonna demote the Exalted to a normal Sorcerer and add

1x 10 Rubrics w/ Inferno Pistol, Staff, Soulreaper and 2 Warpflamers

1x 10 Rubrics w/ Inferno Pistol, Staff, Soulreaper and 1 Warpflamer

It's no longer the same amount of wounds I'd add, it's 20 bodies and 40 wounds vs 10 bodies and 30 wounds now.

And it's still 1 more Psyker.

20 more Rubrics, albeit less scary to face in melee, seem like the better choice now, don't they?

With points changes that will mose likely occur when the W change becomes official, it might turn out I don't need more boxes anyway, of course.

Edit: I've settled on Cult of Duplicity for these guys btw.

It´s a hard question to answer as both option are good. But with the coming changes to marines (in all it´s form), it could be intersting to get terminators. With better power swords, more wounds they could become a powerhouse. My advice would propably be to get one of the option and then get the other later on ;)

if you go with the terminators, I would suggest two missile racks and no soulreaper canons. they just don't add enough for there cost. then again if the heavy warp flamer gets the 12 inch range other heavy flamers get it could be very good.

Very true, so a must take on the termies, however if warpflamers get the 12" range of normal flamers, then they will be incredible in a unit of Rubrics with DMC.

I just can't answer anything with the October weapons change so close. Currently I am not impressed with the 10 Scarab Occult I have. I should probably be running rubrics in their place since they get hit with the same types of weapons, thereby ignoring All is Dust.

I agree with Arch, it's not a great answer but it really would be best to wait and see how things pan out with the changes later this year. I expect the Sons codex will be further out and not warrant waiting on, but if you need to decide now/soon then the bread and butter in Rubrics should be a safe bet :tu:

Too many variables to really answer this.

I do know when I play 10 SoTs, I always use Time to heal. There's no way I run 10 of these without a Time Detachment. It's a night and day difference. Obviously with 10 you are making the list about the SoT's.

I find with 10 SoT's the HQ's can be a little more confident behind them, and it allows freedom of Rubrics to do what they need to do without having to be in reach.

The SoT's have done really good bodyguardring especially with the 2D6 Heroic Intervention.

Still no points values mean we have no idea how crazy expensive these models could get.

I haven't been too impressed with my own Thousand Sons lately. The list feels very static, but it works. It just kind of uses all the obsec/survival skills with lots of Infantry and just kind of... tries to hold out against shooty armies. It's a bit tedious, and not as dynamic as it used to be in 8th.

This is one of the codexes that I think will need/have a significant change in 9th.

Prot, I agree with you. I also feel that I can make a win here and there but all the games are similiar and not much fun. I want to have fun and suprise my opponents. Also, every time I say I will dhow up and play, I give my opponents 15 free victory points as all of them skip an psyker by them self and take abhor the witch as secondary. So starting with 0 vs 15p every game is a uphill fight.
