I know in the past these have been too expensive for any more than fun games

 

But now they have had a points drop are they better placed for usablity

 

Also.

They don't have DR. They regain a wound at the beginning of their turn.

But they COULD be made a Contaminated Monstrosity for even more survivability

I’d say wait until the FW updates FINALLY drop. They’re interesting as-is, but don’t really stand out above anything else, sadly. Especially now Haulers are bloody godly.
