PGtM Shoulder Insignia Questions

I’m looking really hard at picking up a set of shoulder pad insignia (just the insignia, not the whole pad) from PopGoesTheMonkey.

 

Before I pull the trigger for $30 after shipping, though, I wanted to check with the community whether they’re a good purchase, what they look like, etc. I’ve bought shoulder pads from him before, but the insignia bitz would be a nee thing for me.

I bought 2 different sets of shoulder Insignia and both have been great.

I got a set of Chapter Icons for my Mantis Warriors and while they're nice, they're just way too thick for my liking.

 

For my new White Scars I've gone for Brass Etch stuff from ebay, it's a bit more fiddly to put on as you have to bend it to shape. But it's a much nicer fit, being about the same thickness as the protrusion of the shoulder pad rim. And they're also cheaper.

They're definitely pretty thick,  thicker than the rim of a shoulder pad - I like them, but only as a full-army thing, as the difference between those with and without said pads is pretty obvious even at a typical 'tabletop' distance. Hopefully this pic will help!

As Anticontrarian says they are a little chunky (about 1mm thick) and they look best when applied to the whole army, and even better if you're doing something similar with the Chapter insignia on the other shoulder. I personally love them.

Yeah. If you're not doing the whole army like that, I don't recommend it.

 

But if you do intend to do the entire army with the glue-on symbols, go right ahead,

 

Personally, I myself don't like them because they're so chunky. They're good quality, but they stick out too much imo

I dont use them on every model in my heresy army and i.like the chunkyness.

It looks like a fast later adition instead of designed into the armour so more like a bit of MK V armour style
