The blood ravens struggle for a long time to figure out who their primogenitor is.

Cawl *sends primaris reinforcements*

their chapter master "well, in doing all this genetic tinkering, surely, you figured out who the primogenitor is?  You had to match the gene seed up against something, right?"

Cawl "lmao get fethed loser.  Take your marines and go lose another homeworld or whatever it is you do."

Of course he did - he tested it up against the Gene-Seed they were founded with. Not his fault if no-one knows what Gene-Seed that is!

Honestly, this was one of the things I liked most about advancing the timeline as it allowed me to change my DIY from 'claiming Salamander heritage' to 'acknowledged Salamander heritage'.

There is no way Cawl didn’t go digging around in every bit of geneseed he could get his hands on. He’s just too curious and/or arrogant. :p

Cawl would definitely know who was whose daddy, even if he pleads ignorance publicly. The get around is, as said above, Chapters without known ancestry just got the knowledge to produce Primaris but didn't get a share from the unnumbered sons.

What I loved most was that they recreated several Chapters back, as they either didn't know they were gone (bad comms or records) or knowingly as a tribute to a well remembered one. Both the Astral Knights and Brazen Skulls(?) are mentioned in the new codex as existing again in the Age of Indomitus. Opens up a lot of defunct Chapters for use if you want to start a Primaris only force.

Blood Ravens being Blood Ravens, the company that received the Primaris reinforcements wasn't in the hugest of hurries to even tell the Chapter Master as of the end of the story where the Custodes dropped them off. It's possible he still doesn't know.

Bah, Cawl undoing all the overtime the IW's put in with the Black Consuls. *grumble, grumble, kicks rock*

Thank you for remembering the correct name! Black Consuls indeed. I seem to recall there was a second Chapter mentioned as falling during the Sabbat Crusade. Don't suppose you remember who they were?
