That stratagem allows ALL squads to shoot twice or just one squad? Because Stalkers are still 1 shot each as far as I know, and 10 shots twice is only 20...

Just 1 unit but brother Greycrow has 40 intercessors with stalker bolt rifles.  With the stratagem he is going to get 50 shots.... in theory!

Just curious ... Where are you getting the points to field these guys ?

Nothing set in stone yet because I haven’t matched a complete list with points until Battlescribe does its thing. Those guys are awesome. But it looks like after I lay down points for two units of Infiltrators and ...

Units of 5

2 Bolter Inceptor teams

2 Bladeguard

2 Eradicators

1 Aggressor (might build a flame gauntlet unit)

And 1 ten man unit of Assault Inceptors

The points for for Heavy Intercessors aren’t there. :(

I've seen the points cost for these. 28 points each and 1 in 5 can take a heavy bolter equivilent for 10 points.

So 150 points for 5 with the Heavy Bolter

Fun part: This is the first primaris infantry model with a heavy bolter - the Hellfire Shell strat works now. So the rapid-fire variant might be something for the backfield after all...

Sadly they updated the wording on Hellfire Shells to only allow one shot per turn :(

Sadly they updated the wording on Hellfire Shells to only allow one shot per turn :sad.:

That has always been the case - it was explained by how the marine had to hand-load that special shell, instead of spending an entire belt of those.

Still - you absolutely need something to suffer MW across the board, you use this.

Brethren, how should I build the Heavy Intercessors?

I plan to use them as my backfield strong point or to hold one objective in my deployment zone whilst my Infiltrators and other units go forth to conquer the other objectives. I don't want to babysit the Heavy Intercessors and I could use some punch in order to clear wannabe deep striking units or line-breakers.

I would go with their stock Heavy Bolt Rifles. With Raven Guard Chapter Tactics, we will get the most mileage out of them being Rapid Fire. Also, if they are sitting on an objective anyway, Bolter Discipline will always have them firing twice, and with 36" range, they can support the midfield quite well.

If you did want to babysit them, an Apothecary is a good choice, as is an Ancient.

I am tempted to build a squad of 10, take 2 Heavy Bolters, and Combat Squad them. 5 guys with Heavy Bolt Rifles on that objective, and the Sergeant, 2 Heavy Bolters, and 2 remaining Heavy Bolt Rifles sitting in terrain forward in my Deployment Zone to hit my opponent's Deployment Zone with 6 Heavy Bolter Shots, and 6 Heavy Bolt Rifle shots.

But keep in mind, 10 of them with 2 heavy weapons is 300 points. Whew!
