N1SB
Hi Brothers. I take Warhammer seriously, I just don't take myself or my armies that seriously. Thus, my question, how do I change the helmet of these... ...to these? Little balls of green stuff is the last resort. I was thinking of cutting up polystyrene balls but the curvature has to be an exact/really close fit. Thanks in advance. Brother Tyler
I would have sworn that I saw a tutorial here where someone took a shoulder pad and trimmed it to fit like that. I'll have to look around. Worst case scenario - you could take the Primaris Inceptors and use some green stuff to fill in the vision slit and sand down the seams for a smooth globular appearance. If you need more than 3 of the blast shield helmets, you can use green stuff molds to cast your own. Dr_Ruminahui
Also check out this thread - the OP used some 3rd party domes to get dome headed marines: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365588-bubble-helmet-marines/ Not quite what you are going after, but a good start. Another option would be to carve the appropriate sized depression around where the head is and use the desired size ball bearing, marble, or other round object. Fajita Fan
That would look awesome on Gravis armor! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366546-how-do-i-make-globe-helmets-like-in-starcraft-pls/#findComment-5603624 Share on other sites
Lestat
Maybe a metal or plastic ball bearing glued in place of the head would work? Mandragola
4D model shop does transparent domes. https://modelshop.co.uk/Shop/Strip-Shape/Domes/Clear/Item/Hemisphere/ITM5920. The smallest they do is 9.5mm across, which might work ok. I think the thickness might be too much to have an actual marine's head inside. PeteySödes
I think id approach it by sacrificing a torso (or at least risking one) so make a mold. Fill in the head cowl with greenstuff where you want the bubble to be but a bit deeper if that makes sense. Create a bluestuff mold and then another greenstuff "copy" off that. Then i would use some UV resin to to create the bubbles that fit over the cowl fittings. It could be amazing, it could fail spectacularly but thats the way i like to roll. Jukkiz
yeah, you could use glass bead as base of head and make "globe" part out of greenstuff before layering the visor and armor parts unto that Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366546-how-do-i-make-globe-helmets-like-in-starcraft-pls/#findComment-5603918 Share on other sites
