Has anyone noticed the strange gunships flying with the Thunderhawks on the cover art of the new codex? Are they storm speeders?

They're more prominent on the wrap around cover for the new White Dwarf

I don't think they are Land Speeders. They seem larger, (As best one can tell with no scale comparison) Also, the sensor pod seems to be hanging too low from the hull for it to be a Land Speeder. But I don't discount it entirely.

I think its just 3 Thunderhawks at the top of the image, one seems to be leaning sideways and the ones on the bottom do look like Land Speeders, either way GW is leaning more towards evocative art as opposed to art that strictly adheres to products so dont expect every piece of art to be a 1 to 1 copy of a model or for every detail to be based on models that may or may not exist.

There are three Thunderhawks, but there are also two or three smaller things. They are directly below the Thunderhawk furthest right. They have a completely different silhouette.

I don't know what I expect, but it's not like a GW artist to just invent a whole new thing for art alone.

Those look 100% like the existing Land Speeder to me, if you are talking about the things with fins, a sensor pod hanging under it and a bolter hanging out the front. Just looks a bit weird because of perspective, looking up from underneath them. Edited by WrathOfTheLion
