Astartes Consul
I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I can't find it. Which Imperial Armour books contain the correct rules for using 'non-Legion' super-heavies in them? Is it the Imperial Armour: Apocalypse book from a few years ago? Or can you use other books? Bung
Its on Page 131 of the Age of Darkness Rulebook. There is a list of which units are available and it states you have to use the latest rules published for them. Astartes Consul
Yes, but technically the 'latest rules' published for them will not actually have any AV etc. because the way vehicles work in 40k has changed... So what I'm after is the latest 7th ed era rules. Marshal Rohr
They’re in the Crusade Imperialis Solar Auxilia Section, Aeronautica, or the last version of Apocalypse for 7th. The only things that don’t have rules Variants in a Red Boom to my knowledge are Aquila Landers, Marauder Bombers, Vultures, Valkyries, Valkyrie Lifters, Macharius and it’s Variants, Crassus and Praetor, And the super bombard that never got a model. SkimaskMohawk
it should be the imperial armour 1+2 second editions. Though they're tricky to find Astartes Consul 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366763-legion-lists-and-using-superheavies/#findComment-5609635 Share on other sites

Okay, so Solar Aux. super heavy rukes can be used in a Astartes list as per the AoD Rulebook? Nice. Guess I'll have to grab an Apocalypse from somewhere as well if I want to use the 'Macharius' or variants. it should be the imperial armour 1+2 second editions. Though they're tricky to find See, I have an IA 1 First Edition but not the Second Edition which is, yes, very hard to find... SkimaskMohawk
Woops I actually mistook volume 2 as guard as well when it's space marines. For the super heavies you'll just need volume 1 for any of the macharius hulls and other stuff that's not found in solar auxilia/cults and militia Astartes Consul 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366763-legion-lists-and-using-superheavies/#findComment-5609692 Share on other sites
Noserenda
Ive not read them in a while but arent the SA tanks typically different to the basic versions? Someone did compile a definitive list of the various LoW choices and the latest rules for them a while back on this forum, though its not shown up on a cursory search (might be looking in the wrong place/name). Yeah I vaguely remembered that and tried to find it - no luck either though. The SA Russ variants are different, but i don't know about superheavy ones? Don't have the CI book to hand to check.
