Evil Eye
The first White Dwarf I ever read was Issue 300, the bumper-sized issue filled with extra scenarios, modelling ideas and fluff pieces. It is arguably what got me into this hobby to begin with, and to my delight I was able to find it (along with many other old WDs) in Aladdin's Cave, a fittingly named odds 'n' sods shop in Norwich. One of my favourite parts of this issue was Dok Butcha's Convershun Klinic, featuring some of the readerships' more interesting conversions. In particular I was absolutely fascinated by this model, a rather abstract Daemon of some form named Redgnash made from the 3E Lictor and a Tzeentch Flamer amongst other parts. In fact, I love this thing so much I'm intending to have a go at making one myself. I actually have a Lictor that's in need of paint stripping (yet again), albeit the metal 4th edition sculpt rather than the one used here, but it should work just as well. The only thing I'm missing is something to use as the "trunk" of the creature, though the plastic Flamer box should work just fine assuming I can get one. That being said, does anyone have any ideas for other additions to the beast? I cut off the blade on the Lictor's tail to replace it with a more impressive one from a Carnifex horn back when this was going to be a Lictor Alpha, but I'm thinking a weird homonculus/puppet of sorts growing at the tip (maybe a cluster of jabbering skulls?) would be delightfully disturbing. Finally, what should I run it as? A daemon character for the INQ28 force I keep telling myself I'll make some day? A Chaos Spawn or Daemon Herald? Or maybe some fungoid monstrosity for my burgeoning AOS goblin army? Or something else altogether? Anyway, that's enough rambling from me, what are your thoughts?
