I see other people on Facebook pages etc getting excited over potential Logan Grimnar improvements, but am I the only one who is just see disheartened over the lack of anything on him. This guy literally does not have a single unique special rule going for him. He is dull as dishwater.

If we compare him to Azrael of the Dark Angels, we gain a better weapon and an extra wound but Azrael gains the following:-

- Single deny (not powerful but fluffy)

- Additional 2CP (fluffy and powerful)

- Inner Circle (permanent Transhuman Physiology)

- 4++ for all infantry and bikers within 6"

All this for an extra 15pts. It is just no comparison. Now please don't misunderstand this post I don't want something super overpowered but I just want some special rules that set him apart from any other generic chapter master we can now make. He is just super boring.

We know that the SW codex supplement is coming before Christmas whereas the DA will not be getting theirs until 2021. Maybe the DAs got a bit more attention simply because they will have to play with theirs longer than SW players will.

As said, the SW one only has to last a month or two at most.

The DA one is 'early next year', which is hopefully January, but could be further out from any myriad of reasons, like AoS schedules, etc.

The only new rule Azrael has is the watcher, where they finally gave him one for what comes in his ancient metal kit.

Hopefully they don't do to Azrael what they did the Ragnar. Finally figure out how to give his wolves decent rules (as far as transportation and what they can do)  and then rip them away when he got primarised.

Well if they do, at least the Chapter Master won't have a model that is a quarter of a century old :biggrin.:

Either way, comparing Grimnar's rules to his 8E codex rules, the only thing he lost was something for auto-passing morale tests aura for wolf guard. So if the lack of interesting rules is a problem, then it's an existing problem, not one unique to the FAQ. As I mentioned earlier, all of Azrael's abilities are basically things he already had, or had modeled but were not given (Watcher in the Dark), so they're 'pre-existing' flavor as well.
