Given that the mega-bommer is [a] big and resin, I fear the price tag will be somewhere between :ohmy.: and :ohmy.::ohmy.:.  On the other hand, it is a nuclear bomber (apparently), so ...

A glimpse into the future would be interesting to see what's coming, though.  I can't think of anything missing from the Taros book, other than the ground objectives, so ... the next race, maybe?

I'm still betting on the bomber being in the range of £60 to £65 based on number of pieces compared to the other resin AI sets.

I'm really hoping those ground assets will be plastic again!

We also need to see the remora, hopefully in plastic too. I feel that will be a big help to tau lists as they get a cheap option to add more variety to lists.

Then I would love to see an Eldar Vs Chaos starter set (I know, not going to happen as starters need something imperial but I can dream!)

I wouldn’t give up hope, I wouldn’t be surprised by an Eldar vs Chaos box. They’re not as popular as Imperials, granted, but there’s a lot of people waiting for those races, especially as Eldar feel like they should be the kings of manoeuvrability in an aerial combat game.

That said, they could disappoint me and put Marine flyers vs chosen Xenos/chaos force in, but I’m just not that excited for Marine flyers, except maybe the Thunderhawk!

They may even surprise us and not do another version of the core set. I’m not totally sold on it’s necessity going forward if I’m honest.

I’m just not that excited for Marine flyers, except maybe the Thunderhawk!

Maybe it could be the plastic Thunderhawk people have been forecasting for forever? I guess at least it should be affordable! :D

Haha an Aeronautica scale Thunderhawk might be the only way I manage to get one

Early on when GW, or maybe even FW, mentioned having five factions I didn’t get the feeling marines would be one of them. Then again, I admit a Thunderhawk being escorted by some Xiphons would look awesome. SM’s always sell well too.

With 3 factions out that leaves 2 obviously. Therefore a 2-faction campaign box (starter set) would make sense.

There was a pretty strong rumour some time ago the next set would be Eldar vs Chaos. There was a past Warcom article which talked about famous air battles and the staff favourites. The Imperium and Orks were mentioned a few times, so were the Eldar and Chaos. Maybe that has something to do with the predictions.

That’s why I thought this week might actually be a big one. Any reveals might show us the way forward for the game. Like who’s next or how ground assets will be packaged, will it be 2 factions again or just single packs, and if those Remoras will be plastic or resin.

Last year FW said the scout class flyers were ready to go. So far, the only scout class releases have been the Arvus Lighters. Remora drones are also scout class but not out yet. I thought they would be plastic, but the more time passes I’m thinking probably resin.

Every time I get the urge to go ahead and try make some ground assets I stop and think no, don’t do it, the official ones will be out soon lol. Hmm I can’t actually play at the moment anyway, so I figure waiting is probably best.

The Ork Mega bomber is so interesting for other reasons beyond its size and price as well. The design is entirely new! Up until that announcement I assumed all flyers for Aeronautica would be based on existing designs. This shows that the design team really can open up and expand the game in different ways.

Here’s hoping for some future insights this week and if not then I guess we have Warhammer Day on the 31st, maybe.

I really want to know how the remora is going to be handled as it far and away the smallest thing they have done for AI or AT to date.

I was looking for scale pictures online, this pic of remoras next to a barracuda is on the FW website. It's so small!
