space wolf
So years and years ago, I purchased a two part putty that was grey and blue. You would knead it together and you could make molds with it. Unlike the soft silicone stuff, this dried HARD. This made it perfect for press molding details. But for the life of me I cannot remember what it's called or where to find it. When I bought it, it was labeled blue stuff...but now that name is being used by the reusable plastic stuff. Anyone have a clue? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367025-blue-molding-putty/ Share on other sites

NiceGuyAdi
Have you tried milliput? That is a two part epoxy, dries hard enough to use for push moulds and sanding afterwards. It isn’t blue though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367025-blue-molding-putty/#findComment-5617353 Share on other sites

Xenith
Grey and blue...might be a version of milliput? Â I use the rapidmould sticks for press moulds, they're ace. Xenith
Weird, that's not what I expected from Blue stuff - there's another product called Blue stuff, which is basically the solid rapidmould sticks I linked above, buy I'm blue. Â Confusing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367025-blue-molding-putty/#findComment-5617719 Share on other sites
NiceGuyAdi
I looked into buying some of that a while ago and it seemed like they'd stopped making it. I hadn't realised it cured into a hard mould, so I'll be giving this a whirl. space wolf
The putty sure does, I dont think the liquid does, tho NiceGuyAdi 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367025-blue-molding-putty/#findComment-5618033 Share on other sites
NTaW
I'll vouch for the liquid blu-stuff. I've used it for several projects and it dries to a rubbery silicone mold that needs the pressure of, say, a Lego mold chamber to keep putty inside uniformly. I've replicated quite fine detail parts using it. walter h and space wolf 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367025-blue-molding-putty/#findComment-5618495 Share on other sites
