I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, so apologies if it has and I missed it, but am I correct in believing Outriders have a stupid number of attacks per model on the charge?

2 base.

1 for the Astartes Chainsword.

1 for Shock Assault.

2 for Devastating Charge

Combined with various Chapter tactics, Chaplain litanies and other buffs...

I know what will be supporting my Attack Bikes on the flanks now!

Correct. They're a slot eater though, being limited to 3 per unit

White scars, blood angels and space wolf tactics are best for them. But any chapter supporting a single unit with a master of sanctity can get rerolls to hit and +1 to wound on a unit.

Gene wrought might also a baller strat for that many attacks

As a small but hard hitting unit, they are a great option for Strategic Reserves. Bring them on T2/3 once the initial firestorm has passed and use their speed and hitting power to finish off weakened units and nab Objectives.

they have a lot of attacks for three models, but no special weapon options on the sergeant does limit their legitimate usefulness, plus their attacks plumet after the first round and after casualties.

I'll be playing a successor Chapter with Whirlwind of Rage and Tactical Withdrawal, so any loss of attacks after the first round isn't too bad with the exploding 6s and the ability to fall back + charge.

That and with Gene Wrought Might I think 13 attacks (4, 4, 5) from the squad, they'd probably barrel over most targets.

They do have alot of attacks per model, but if they get charged or are stuck in a prolonged combat they have a tough time. I wish that the sergeant could take a power weapon. I do like the unit but tend to rely more on the speed and flexibility than trying to use it as a CC unit.

or assault intercessors getting 4 attacks each for 20. The bikes have maneuverability, but for the cost of three bikes you can get 6 assault intercessors plus a special melee weapon like a thunder hammer - which feel like they'd be a better surprise charge off the table unit (honestly even a power sword would be a good bet with blood angels)

I only use outriders mostly to screen my outrider chaplains. Also as good as they are in hth they still can lay down a really good amount of shots.

I think a better judgement on outriders will be after the supplements. I feel like we have to hold our breath for a bit more
