Elzender
Greetings, fellow little titans enthusiasts! I have recently gotten a Warbringer Nemesis model in my hands, mostly because I love the model itself and because I know I will never be a position to justify purchasing the full scale one. However, I have a couple questions about it: - Ruleswise, do I need any specific book to play it? I guess I do need the books were Nemesis-containing maniples are detailed, but in itself, do I need anything else other than the command terminal (included with the kit) and the ruleset (which I got a while ago) in order to know how the titan works in a game? - The second question is related to building the model: does anybody that built one know if the bits #11 have any specific purpose, or are they just alternative parts? They look like a longer version of the #10 bits, which are the cables that go from the groin to the legs. I've been unable to find them in any step of the build, and I could certainly use them as I've repositioned the legs and the normal ones do not reach now. I will post pics soon of the WIP titan and of the bits I need help with, I am currently writing on the phone and I'm not familiar with adding pics from here Edited October 15, 2020 by Elzender Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367061-a-couple-questions-about-the-warbringer/ Share on other sites
Sherrypie
They work just fine with the terminals, maniples can be found in Shadow & Iron as well as Defence of Ryza. There is a bit of errata in the FAQ, namely that their top gun should have the Carapace trait and the critically disabled text in the armour rolls of the top gun has no reason to exist as of yet, since it doesn't have any rules. The cables are optional bits. Show us the work when you can, it's nice to see :) Edited October 15, 2020 by Sherrypie Elzender 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367061-a-couple-questions-about-the-warbringer/#findComment-5618244 Share on other sites
Elzender
Thanks for the quick and comprehensive response, Sherrypie! I will have to check those books, but at any rate first I want to finish building it, and then I am considering getting the starter set. I already have the ruleset box that I bought a year and a half ago, so I don't really need another, but the box is too good value to pass (shame that I never went for the titan battlegroup while it was available ). As for the assets, templates and dice, they might come in handy to have spares in case I convince a coupe friends to give the game a try; while they are unlikely to collect any miniature (one is a filthy Necron lover, and the other does not even like 40K that much, he's more of an AoS guy), the game seems to be fun enough that they might like to treat it as a boardgame. To that effect, I am already considering making two different homebrew Legios, one to develop as my personal project and a smaller one as their antagonist to use for gaming purposes. I still don't have any kind of details defined, not even colour schemes, although I am wondering about the possibility of magnetising the main armour plates of some titans and see if I can make them change alliegance as necessary (only with some though, I also see this project as a modelling one to have some "display" level miniatures). As promised, I bring some pictures of my WIP Warbringer: The leg armour plates are held with blu-tac to check the fit with the modified stance. schoon
Nice pose! As Sherrypie pointed out, the terminal and weapons cards are really all you need in addition to the basic rule set. Having the books where the Warbringer was introduced gives you much more of the background, scenarios, and Maniples that use it.
