There will be a poll provided when me and Brother Lunkhead put our heads together and get it done, which will probably be soon (no offence, Lunkhead). Of course there is a statistical detail to resolve, but other than that, keep your eyes peeled!

received 2711550055723306

I plan on getting the glaive and base done tonight, and that should be him completed aside from touch ups.

Those badges are awesome, I agree, thanks to Skywrath for putting all of this together, its a huge motivator and a great chance to share amongst fellow GK enthusiasts.

Still painting my GMNDK here, the shading is not co-operating with my efforts for a finished product, *sigh*

Excellent job Woodsman, I'll update your vow progress.. would you be so kind to check your PM's?

Brother-Captain Arvann Stern

Brother-Captain Arvann Stern

Of the initial 109 Grey Knights, who arrived on the tumultuous battlefield of the First War of Armageddon, set with the impossible task of directly confronting and banishing the Daemon Primarch Angron, the young Arvann Stern was one of only 13 Grey Knights, surviving beyond that harrowing day. And yet, through the extensive sacrifices on that day - the impossible task was fulfilled, and the once Son of the Emperor, now disgraced and fallen - was purged from the material universe, and forced back to the Immaterium in utter defeat.

Now, centuries later and surrounded by his squad of brave Terminator-clad Grey Knights, Stern recalls how it was the legendary Brother-Captain Taremar Aurellian, who at the end, had challenged and dueled the Daemon Primarch in single combat, performing his ultimate duty - and sacrifice, to land the final...decisive blow! Stern, in reaching the rank of Brother-Captain and accumulating legendary deeds and victories of his very own - in particular against the Tzeentchian Lord of Change M’Kachen, could not help but subtly smile to himself, at the thought that he would be setting foot on the very same planet, where another disgraced Son of the Emperor would dare stalk across its lands.

Apart from Lord Kaldor Draigo himself, there are few Grey Knights who currently have more intertwined battle experience, against the greater hosts of Tzeentch, than Brother-Captain Stern. In past battles, the infamous curse that the vile, and treacherous Lord of Change M’Kachen has placed on the Brother-Captain, has proven beneficial in the fight against other Tzeentchian Daemons. It is these same heretical hexes, that while preventing his fellow Grey Knight Prognosticars from foreseeing Stern’s prescribed arc of fate, also obscures his presence to other Daemons on the field of battle - for it is M’Kachen’s great ambition to one day claim this Brother-Captains eventual demise - by his taloned grasp alone! With this knowledge, Stern is determined to contribute his battle prowess and experience in a coordinated assault on the Forces of Chaos that once again roam upon this world.

Brother-Captain Stern, channeling his psychic power into the Nemesis force sword in his tightening grip, igniting the azure-white blade with crackling and illuminating energy, raises it upward in a steady and signaling motion. As the assault ramp in front of him lowers down to reveal the scarred battlefield ahead, just as the Brother-Captain all those centuries ago, who on that day had lead their righteous charge from front; for these Grey Knights at his back who follow him now - he shall do the same. Striding forward, his unspoken war cry fills the minds of everyone of his brave Knights,

“Suffer not the Daemon to live!”

For an old ugly model, you truly have brought out the best in it. Beautifully painted, clean and crisp. And very true to form. I can't decide to who to vote for now!?!?!

Updated your vow progress, Waking Dreamer, and may I commend you on such a wonderfully painted model. Was that eagle/shoulderplate free-hand?

As for my progress - here's a WIP. Still sorting out some abysmal shading from earlier. No weapon pictures, unfortunately, still magnetising/painting them. Looks like for this month, it will only be the singular GMNDK - was not expecting him to be that much trouble.

++ Just a reminder that participants of this challenge have a week remaining from this moment to complete your vows, if you haven't already. The deadline for this vow is on the 26th of November, 12.00am AEST. For those people living outside of Australia, you have a 24 hour grace window after the 26th to complete the vow, accounting for different timezones. ++

++ For reference, it only takes a singular model for your vow to be counted as complete. The polling for this month's awards will go up on the 24th of November, with the polling closing on the 27th, at the same time (12.00am AEST). After which I will declare the winners for this month, hand out awards, and provide the narrative for the next month (factoring of course, people's submissions for the fluff). The next month will be conducted in a similar format, although it will account for the month of Christmas, details which will be provided soon.  ++

The bright "grey/silver" on the armour plates is that non metallic metal you are going for? the pics are a little grainy so I cant tell. But I love those armour plates. The model really has a different vibe then glorified baby carrier

Ok, so I actually did finish Eudicius a couple of nights ago, but only managed to take pictures this morning.

Fairly happy with how he came out overall, I'm really enjoying weathering my vehicles - it gives them a real gritty feel I find. The way I see it, the infantry wear holy true-silver armor which might not suffer the same kind of battle-damage as tanks and walkers, but vehicles, while consecrated and packed with psychic defenses, remain Imperial armor plating. I'm having some trouble getting my blending right on the force weapons, especially on larger surfaces (this guy's soulglaive, GMDKs big old sword), but its coming along. Especially stoked that I've finally gotten him done after him gathering dust for about 10 years. I'm going to get my Land Raiders and second GMDK basecoated today, but my second vow will be a character that has already graced the pages of this thread... I like continuity and have also been putting him off for a while, plus he's a bit of a kitbash, so should be fun!

Added you to the list, Grotsmasha, the Grey Knights welcome your presence :smile.: Also, same name as my Brother-Captain (which will be posted soon on this thread).
