MasterDeath Posted October 20, 2020 Share Posted October 20, 2020 You cannot summon a Gnarlmaw (it lacks the demonic ritual ability), and if you could it would not hold anything as 1. it counts as a terrain piece (...it is not treated as a friendly model) and 2. its a fortification. Plague _Lord Posted October 21, 2020 Share Posted October 21, 2020 Only way to do that is with Horticulox and I think the mortal wound output isn't worth it (although in my pure nurgle daemons list I use him but mainly to buff a big block of beasts + I love the model). Of course you can plant the fortification in your own deployment zone without problems. 9x19 Parabellum Posted October 22, 2020 Share Posted October 22, 2020 Hey gents can someone help me out here? I'm going to be playing Crusade (ie, narrative) against Death Guard on Saturday. I've never played narrative games before, and so no DG player I've ever gone against has used summoning. That is to say, I have no idea how it works. Since narrative play summoning doesn't require army points/power, what is the actual mechanism that is used to summon stuff? Ie, who can do it, what does it cost? (stratagem? psychic ability?) McElMcNinja Posted October 22, 2020 Share Posted October 22, 2020 Most characters can summon, but they can't move in the movement phase. There are a couple of exception, via stratagems. They have to be within 12" of the character and more then 9" from an enemy unit. Hope that helps. Is there any limit to how much/what size unit they can summon? Is there any roll or difficulty to it or do they just always succeed? Doubles rolled equals a mortal wound, triples rolled equals d3 mortal wounds to the summoner. Agree on Reserving Power maybe? Its to unbalanced even for narrative.
