byrd9999
Hi all, I'm hoping you can help me. I really like the colour scheme on the new Tau KV 129 Stormfury platform, and I'd like to paint some home-brew 40k using these colours, but I'm not entirely sure how to get there. I would say the cream colour is Ushabti bone with Pallid Which Flesh highlights. Any wash? The blue is trickier. Maybe a mix base of Kantor Blue + Abaddon Black, then Caledor Blue and Fenrisian Grey? Any help or tips would be gratefully appreciated! https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/10/20/flight-plan-youre-grounded/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367156-help-deciphering-gw-tau-colour-scheme/ Share on other sites
Master Commander Ajax
Looks to me like there’s Thunderhawk Blue in there, probably Dark Reaper too. The_Chaplain
Probably a watered down wash of agrax earthshade on the white/cream areas if I had to venture a guess Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367156-help-deciphering-gw-tau-colour-scheme/#findComment-5621078 Share on other sites
jaxom
The blue looks like contrast paint almost; a mix of Macragge and Black Templar. Closet Skeleton
Looks like thin layering over washes finished by edge nightlights.. Blue could be drakenhof nightshade then thunderhawk blue and maybe ending in fenrisian grey. White looks like seraphim sepia over a bone colour layered with palid wyche flesh and a final edge highlight in a true white. Mithrilforge
Knowing GW whoever painted it,they probably got ordered to paint the whole thing in contrast paints to push its sales ...
