Kaldoth
Hello all! Finally got back from an extended middle eastern vacation, myself moved into a new house, and the hobby desk set up :D It's been ages since I painted anything so I've got quite a few cobwebs to knock off. I've got the Necron half of the Indomitus box with me here and a bunch of other Necron stuff somewhere in a box being shipped back home. Hopefully it gets here soon. For now, I'm starting with the warriors. I decided to go with Maynarkh as the dynasty as I love their fluff, they don't have any new rules yet so I can play with the custom codes and such, and their color scheme isn't really set in stone other than brass and orange weapon glow. Here's the test model I painted up. Pretty sure I'll be going with this for the army. More to come ^_^ Edited November 16, 2020 by Kaldoth Mr4Minutes, Captain Idaho, Pearson73 and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367236-the-maynarkh-march-again-skorpekh-1115/ Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
Yeah, I was torn between Szarekhan and Maynarkh dynasties for paint scheme-- hope maynarkh get some kind of mention in the future forgeworld compendium. Their fluff is awesome. Digging the glow on the warrior there, keep it up! Kaldoth
Cheers for the comments gents! Working on getting the base colors done on the warriors still, but I did manage to finish up the scarabs. Really happy with the bases. Get Thokt
Forgeworld book goes on pre-order on Friday. So we might see new datasheets of their characters! Bjorn Firewalker
The fiery red highlights complement the Necrons' silver armor very well. Good job on the models. Kaldoth
Looks Mephrit to me I suppose the RAF warriors look similar :) But the metal is actually a brass color and not silver like Mephrit. Camera just doesn't pick it up well. Maynarkh also don't have any of the green accents you see on Mephrit units. Once I get some different unit types painted up they'll look a bit different ^_^ RIP Kutlakh and Toholk, our finest Maynarkh Overlord and Cryptek I can't express how disappointed I am that we are losing our characters to Legends, and how we are obviously not getting any special rules now :( I had such high hopes that we'd get something cool like Flayed ones as Troops, or at the very least Core. Or some morale reducing army rule. *Sigh* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367236-the-maynarkh-march-again-skorpekh-1115/#findComment-5623077 Share on other sites
Kaldoth
Managed to finish up the first squad of warriors last night ^_^ Decided to do a super basic OSL effect on the reapers. Good enough for TTQ, which is what I was shooting for. Not sure what I want to paint up next. Votes? I've got 3 skorpeks, the skorpek lord, an overlord, crypteks, royal warden, more warriors, and the reanimator left to go. Daimyo-Phaeron Lenoch
Something choppy! These guys look superbly bloody/menacing and I think it would look good on something with some punch (lord of some variety, destroyers, etc). Mr4Minutes
I vote the Skorpekhs. They’re just awesome to paint and they are fun to play. Kaldoth
Made some progress this weekend on the Skorpeks. Very fiddly kit to put together, but loads of fun to paint! Not sure if I like the alternating effect I did on the blades. Might repaint them to have the yellow along the entire outside edge and the orange/red on the inside. Thoughts? Edit: Also finalized a list today. 2k points is the goal!
