TheUnlikelyGamer84
Ive played 6 games so far in 9th. 2 each against eldar, necrons, and Tyranids. I want to preface this statement with my friends and I are not WAAC players. I won all my games so far with the necrons quitting both games at the end of rd 2 once I made combat. Although the wulfen have been nerfed since then and I have removed them from my list for now. Here is my list as it currently is. I have been making adjustments as I go and my intention is to post here as a way to bounce ideas off others. BrotherRanik
Seems like a pretty solid lost. How did the long fangs do in the drop pod during your games? Wolf Priest/Chaplain tooled up like you have it seems to be the new Smash Captain for 9th. Alternatively one could take 6 Eradicators and save on the drop pod. However I like my friends and I suspect that the eradicators will get a points increase soon after GW meets a certain sales point Edited October 26, 2020 by TheUnlikelyGamer84 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367252-my-9th-ed-wolves-list/#findComment-5622937 Share on other sites
BrotherRanik
Yeah Chooser of the slain was a great strat for us and made the Leviathan + Rune Priest a perfect combo. That being said I don't think they're going to bring it back since it seems to be getting replaced with the generic Auspex Scan. But one can hope haha. What is your force organization? You have four HQs and two Troops: are you taking two Patrols? Yes I like taking the double patrol. I just like to bring all my cool toys to the game and not spend so many points on troops. Just personal preference. TheUnlikelyGamer84
The pods have been successful in many aspects but I wanted to try something different against my upcoming Necron opponent. Below is some ideas I wanted to try out. Combos: 1.Tanky Wolf Wolf lord. Chapter master. Artifice armor and shield plus iron resolve trait. 1+sv/4++/ 6+++sv T6 9w. Karhedron
I am not sure this list really needs the Chapter Master upgrade as you are not using either the unique relic or WLT. Most of your melee units will be hitting on a 2+ in the first round of combat so rerolling 1s will be as good as full rerolls a lot of the time. For shooting, the only squad worth buffing looks to be the WG TDA with combi meltas. Not sure what I would suggest spending the extra points on though. TiguriusX
I suppose your right. I can use the points to take an extra Bladeguard vet.You would be better off getting 2 separate cyber wolves They provide tactical flexibility your list is short on -objective sitters (frees up all your combat units to move forward) -deep strike zoning out -easy engage on all fronts unit (dont need to send a combat unit to empty board space) -bait to stand on an objective so you can lure out a unit and kill it with a counter attack Cyber wolves can move through breachable walls and easily get places your impulsors can't Edited November 25, 2020 by TiguriusX Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367252-my-9th-ed-wolves-list/#findComment-5636234 Share on other sites

I see the merit in that and I have the models so that is doable. Edit: I savvy opponent my target them for easy attrition pts. So I would need to be careful I take single Cyberwolves in almost all my games (I only play competitive tournaments) Nobody has ever taken attrition against me. I would be glad if they did. Very easy to counter that choice. Most games opponents choose (1) engage (2) assassination and (3) either banners or deploy scramblers Players like secondaries they have complete control over Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367252-my-9th-ed-wolves-list/#findComment-5636631 Share on other sites
